Confirmed Shai Bolton, pick 14 & F3 (Rich) traded to Fremantle for picks 10, 11 & 18

And yet now you want 6 + 13 for Rioli when I’d argue he’s not even worth 6, and you want West Coast to pay more for an uncontracted Baker than Geelong are going to pay for a contracted Bailey Smith

I don’t see how past trades are relevant here.

Adelaide have just paid 28 for a contracted Neal-Bullen. 14 for Baker and 2x early firsts for Rioli is criminal.

10+18 is more than acceptable for Bolton, and as has already been suggested in this thread, would’ve been accepted if Fremantle didn’t also hold 11.
Trades are relevant in the past BECAUSE YOU BOUGHT THEM UP 😂😂😂

You just stated that we were historically tough at the trade table when it’s demonstrably false.

Rioli we are driving really hard, that’s true. Because he was tapped up by GC and we don’t want to lose him. So they pay or he stays. That one isn’t a trade where both sides are happy to start with.

Different to ANB because the Dees were given advance notice by him and the reasons why, and it was two parties working together. I think it’s slight unders (about pick 18-20 maybe)

I think Baker has a similar value to ANB . Yes, he’s OOC, but younger. WC don’t have the puck at the moment. I’d say if 14 was involved (and WC sound like it is) there will be stuff around the edges.

Bolton is interesting. It’s reported Freo have offered 10 & 18, and we’ve asked for 10 & 11. They’re not that far apart, and I think that will sort itself out.

It’s a negotiation. If Freo have offered 10 & 18 they know it may take more. Richmond have asked for 10 & 11 knowing they may get less.

Like buying a used car, if the sticker says $19,999 drive away no more to pay, do you just walk up and blindly pay the price? Or do you haggle?

People need to relax, most of this will work itself out. Really confident Bolton and Baker get done. Bit less confident about Rioli.

No I didn’t?

I’ll give you $100 if you can find a post in this thread where I said anything about you being ‘historically tough at the trade table’

I said you’re overcharging for players, because you’ve got 3 live trades going on at the moment and you’re expecting massive overs for all 3 of them.

Lots of logic here but the one thing I don’t agree on is Rioli not getting done .
Gold Coasts complete devaluation of the draft currency is akin to the Venezualan dollar in that its worth nothing to them as they get given picks every year .

Hence they are almost single-handedly responsible for resetting the draft valuations with some of the dumb shit they do every year

I think they will hand over pick 6 and Richmond will be driving off in hysterics at the heist they just pulled ( if they get 23 as well it will just be comical)

Ok what does specialists in forcing teams to overpay for their players mean?

That sounds like referencing past deeds to me.

We’ve never been a Dodoro or a Geelong.

Because we’ve never done that until now, specifically with Rioli

I try and remain logical in this place. I really try 😂

Rioli + Baker's asking prices are ridiculous. Bolton not quite as egregious but 10+18 is still a great offer for him that I cannot believe you aren't taking.

It’s almost like you didn’t read my post.

You can lead a horse to water….

ANB traded to Crows for pick 28.

Eagles currently hold pick 26.

But the Eagles don't have the pick to land Baker ATM?:rolleyes:

OK.

Eagles would be dumb as dog poo if they traded 14. Clubs will come knocking on draft night with juicy live bids for that pick. Its a mini sweet spot where some quality types likely slide to.

Sounds like the Baker deal will involve a pick 3 shuffle.

Would Richmond consider pick 3 plus Eagles F1st for Bolton and Baker? A little rumor is Bolton would go the the Eagles but doesn't feel they are prepared to use the draft picks to land him due to the stage of the rebuild.

Basically pick 3 and say pick 5. Its pretty close IMO considering you can split either of those picks into two 1sts if that was your preference. Split the 2025 F1st next year ends up 2024 Pick 3 plus 2025 pick 10 and say pick 18. 3 + 10 Bolton. 18 Baker. Its close. Likely needs some picks 40 + going back to the Eagles as 3 + 10 for Bolton is generous.

Bolton’s move has come from him though due to family reasons. Freo didn’t approach him first so it should at least make it different to the Rioli move.

It’s also been known for half the season so plenty of time to come to terms with it.

I’d be happy with 26 in the end. Also understand why we’d ask for more though.

My oversight, sorry. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Yep, hence the initial positions aren’t that far apart. Richmond definitely sympathetic to his situation, much less so Rioli.

Of course I’d love more. But pretty comfortable with where it’s at.

HUH??
Bolton isnt worth even one of those picks, is this a typo?

14 (17) for Baker & 32 (36) would probably get it done.

or if that's too steep we could throw some picks back to you for a pick dump to Gold Coast.

In a heartbeat.

If what Richmond are asking is so clearly ridiculous, how is it that the counter offers from the other clubs are all in the same ballpark?

Split the difference with a later pick coming back, or some salary contribution, and it looks like these deals will all get done.

I'm convinced now Richmond fans want us to pay overs so they can laugh if it goes through

"Lol you really paid 10+11 for Bolton? ****ing idiots"
Nup.

Going back for family reasons, gave us a lot of joy.

As I said to Snuffaluphagus I look forward to watching him tear it up for Freo, you’ll love him!!

What is Bolton worth?

Contracted and uncontracted values please.
