Sheedy to Richmond ????

True ToO, but can you honestly and sincerly promise and sign on to pay money you dont have yet, and cannot be 100% positive that you will get?

Sheeds is secure at essendon. The moment to move and build a side was 3-4 years ago.

Harvey or O'donnell.. Perhaps Wallace are more ideal 'high profile' options.

upsurge in membership and sponsers.as i have said previously there is 4 very well off richmond people who are willing to pay 250G each for sheeds 1st year.
where there,s a will there,s a way:D

cheers!

thats the way i'd see it ...

a new beginning ...

if he's got ne soft spot at all for the tigers he will go there ... i think it's like leigh mathews and hawthorn, unfinished business. the only thing with leigh is it would be hard to leave a club with so much success.

BTW: through increased membership, sponsorship and the like, the tigers would end up being better off financially. If they wanna get ne sort of success, they need to take a risk. This would be the muther of all coups if they could pull it off.

Remember no body thought pagan would leave the roos ... but he did!!

I read the article in the paper today about how greg miller landed wayne carey at nth and I was gobsmacked. The man is a genius and so long as he's calling the shots, things will happen.
Did the article say how there is a draft now?

in all honestly sheeds wage would be paid by just the membership numbers.i would put my house on it.
sure he,s more secure at essendon and wouldnt blame him if he stays there for that very reason however i can also see sheeds thinking to himslef is there any bigger challenge in football than getting the rfc back up where it belongs.
on paper we havnt got a bad list.we have players of the ilk of coughlan, ottens, johnson, brown, newman, krakour of whom sheeds can build the side around.

having said all that the timing of it all tells me the bombers will come to the party otherwise it would have put on the back burner till seasons end if they thought of not agreeing to sheeds demands.

cheers!

What, like when Brown was signed? The AFL doesn't encourage prudence in financial matters; it underwrites mistakes and deliberate mismanagement. That is why we have blockbusters. They bring in the money and the AFL dishes it out with strings and then reward poor mon field performance with players.

Aint socialism grand!

is that the same type of draft that the bombers snagged hird?:D
That the same Hird who's grandfather has his name on the stand at Windy Hill and whose father also played for the club? Good luck with them odds.

difference being Brown is a player, therefore under a salary cap.. The coach isnt. I realise you know this..

Anyway, will be interesting to watch the coaching moves over the next 4 months.

What's the alternative ... the English Premier League ?

No thanks.

did he go to the bombers under f/s?
No but they knew more about him than other clubs because of the family connection. he probably wouldn;t have been drafted if not for that - at least not that year.

I reckon sheedy's in the bag at richmond.

Can't see it personally...

The Board put out Their first Offer....Sheedy responded with HIS first Offer..... The board discussed it and will negotiate with KS in the next week or so...

Not too much out of the ordinary there....

just the fact the Richmond ARE Looking for a Coach for next year, and the Media have made a Mountain out of a Mole Hill... Yet Again

I expect the EFC and KS to come to an agreement in the next week or so, hence...ONCE AGAIN ending speculation that he will return to Punt Rd.

( And besides IMO He won't work with Greg Miller)

If it wasnt for Hird, Mercuri, Misiti, Wellman, Allan and Fletcher all finishing their careers in the next 3 seasons Eseendon would not consider giving him 3 years. We need Sheedy's stability and ability to 'rebuild' at the club to account for this turnover in the future.

so long as essendon agree to paying a generous % of his salary

HA HA HA keep dreaming. :D

forget to mention greg miller is one major obastacle in the way of gettin sheedy.

Na i caught up with miller when i was in melbourne a few months ago he said that he and sheedy were fine now and if at all it was possible for us to get him which is a huge IF then he thinks they could get along fine.

he knows his ability, he lifted a poor side back in 82, he's got nothing to prove.
That was 22 years ago , can he prove he has what it takes in the modern game , if he stays at Essendon he is just an old man sitting in the comfort zone , sliding quietly into old age and imminent retirement . Does Sheeds have the energy and vitality to take up the challenge at punt rd. ? I hope Sheeds does not think he can see out his 3 more years at essendon and then slide over to punt rd. as some sort of football director a-la Parkin at Hawthorn , if he knocks us back this time i say the door is closed . Remember your roots sheeds , time to give a bit back , not only for richmonds sake but for the betterment of the game in Victoria

What you want him to go back to Coburg F.C?

The 'comfort zone' you are talking about is the one he has continually maintained through good recruiting/drafting.

Don't think its your decision whether the Tiges get him back in after he retires as coach of the Dons. They will welcome him regardless.

what does he owe Richmond??? he gave his all for the Tigers including going above the call of duty on many times. He doesnt owe Richmond anything at all!!
Given he was a Bomber supporter as a kid and his desire to play came from watching Coleman and co one could already say he is home.
As for comfort zone that is BS!! there is no comfort zone for league coachs and given he has been around at one club for 3 times as long as normal the comfort zone would be even less if there was one. If you go to two or 3 clubs you dont need to change too much. if you stay in the same place you need to keep being inventive. @0 years of the same wont get you by.
