throwing a butt out of a window probably carries a $100 fine, cause a bush fire with that same butt where people get hurt and you'll go to jail, do you think the butt gilbert threw out hurt anyone in any way?
lets go through this again.
he took a nude pic of 2 high profile people without consent (well one at least), was told to delete the pic and he didnt, deliberatly downloaded the pic to a private folder on his hard drive which he kept for over 12 mnths (admitted it), started having sex with a 16 yr old school girl, allowed that same girl access to those pics (lets be honest here, he showed her the pics, only a muppet would think otherwise), gets that same 16 yr old pregnent (maybe) the 16 yr old school girl then sends the pics to herself, later publishes them on FB causing massive damage to 2 team mates reputations, one being the club captain and face of the team, not to mention the embarrassment dels going to have to go through for at least a very long time, i wont mention the potential loss of endorsments again.
i actually respect your views saints, probably one of the better posters on here IMO, but come on, heads or " a head" has to roll over this, this bloke isnt a first year rookie, he's 24 yrs old!!.
and before finger has a chance to reply, this is nothing like the didak incident/incidends, didak was partying and befriended someone he shouldnt have, granted, but tell me you'd call the police when you know full well this maniac knows exactly who you are? i know i wouldve kept my mouth shut, 99% sure everyone on BF wouldve too.
after thought, i was at a 40th recently and 2 of my brother in laws after many many bourbs started to get free with their packages, shoving them in pkts on the pool table when someone was going for that hole and such, i had the camera, i felt like photographer, took heaps of pics, very funny at the time, first thing i rememered when awoke from my grog induced coma was the pics i took, walked outside and had a laugh with the boys about them, looked at them once and deleted them as i went, couldnt believe i took the pics TBH, as i said, it felt like a funny idea at the time, didnt feel like such a funny idea in the morning though, and remember, my brother in laws arnt celebs, no harm wouldve come of it even if i did keep the pics for some twisted reason, even if a 16 yr old school girl did get hold of them.
my question is, why did gilbert deliberatly keep the pics?, IMO theres only 3 answers.
1. he's gay
2. to impress people (young impressionable girls for instance)
3. to blackmail someone.
if anyones got a 4th id love to hear it.
I have found a couple of things laughable in this whole saga.
Firstly, it is a bit rich for Sam Gilbert to be threatening to sue people. If anything, he is the one who should be sued for his breach of trust.
Secondly, it is a bit rich of the AFL players association to be calling for more protection of players privacy. It is after all one of their own members that perpetrated the biggest breach of privacy in taking the photo, lying about it being deleted, then keeping it on his computer.
Too much common sense in this post.

4. They were part of a large batch of photos taken on an end of season trip and he simply forgot they were there and/or forgot to delete them.

Is it normal behaviour to take naked photos of your teammates on an end of season trip?

Probably the most likely scenario but that doesn't make for a very juicy story though does it?
Fairly common I would have thought, naked hijinks are part and parcel of most footy trips its just that most don't get made public. I've seen much worse than the photos of the Saints players.
Do you honestly believe that?, he admitted downloading them to a "private" folder, do you have "private" folders do you?, he wanted to keep the pics for a reason, thats why he didnt delete them when asked, and as i said in my previous drunkun rant, he showed her those pics IMO.
Your average scanner and its associated software can easily fix that.My Bucks night photo's are worse.
My friend has them.
He's not gay.
He's not a total idiot.
He won't give them back.
He will use them to embarass me one day, but hopefully in semi-private company.
I'm glad they arent digital. I'm glad that I'm not a famous person and that someone who wants to embarass my circle of friends doesn't have access to them.
Maybe I'm unique but I wouldn't think so.
Your average scanner and its associated software can easily fix that.
He's been advised what to say by Lawyers.
I'm sure there is a legal defenition of a "Private folder"
Your drunken opinion of the facts is probably not worth a pinch of excrement.
Definitely not. Gilbert caused a lot of trouble for his club but it wasn't intentional.
He doesn't deserve to be held in the same bracket as Brendan Fevola, Ben Cousins, Jason Akermanis etc.
Yes, he stuffed up. But it would be incredibly harsh for the saints to let him go after one incident, especially when you consider how many chances quality players seem to get in regards to off-field mishaps.
from what i can gather beams knew her before gilbert, and armitage met her through gilbert, as i said on the other thread, how do you know beams slept with her?, you've repeatadly stated the girls a liar, do you only believe what she says when it suits you?, i heard beams was friends with her of some kind, thats all, do i think he did her?, yes, but as i said, we have no proof of that.
remember, beams was only 19 at the time.
I agree the first thing when you have a lot of photos you look at it and delete the crap ones or dodgy one.Guys don't take photos of other Guys it just don't happen. This without someone getting punched up for not deleting it unless they into them or like them to have a photo for their collection.Unless you are Freddy Mercury why would you want to do this? I have been around in plenty of team sport gatherings over the years and never had idiots tyring to take photos of situations that may ........... He is more than a moron.
Gilbert is a useful scapegoat to protect Riewolt and the AFL. We don't even know what part he played, we just swallow the garbage the AFL and media want us to swallow. Naked photos of AFL players are in the hands of a minor. Why? How? Lets not ask, just ridicule and destroy the life of the minor to protect the image of rich sporting men. AFL, that is not socially responsible of your organisation.
I actually blame all of the adults involved who should know better.
