Yeah but fair enough too though ... Hinkley hasn't exactly scored us enough credits.
Look I’m the biggest critic, but each year should be looked at objectively.

Last night showed there is a Josh Carr hardness about this team 😉 different to previous.

We’re winning those grinding games. I see plenty of talent there. Any team in finals. Look to see what is different from previous years.

Tall defenders now, Mitch as a tall has come on beautifully, midfield is great and hard, Wines, Drew Butters JHF strong as

I don't disagree with this but it is understandable to still lack faith in Port.

Someone is working very hard within the inner sanctum to change the narrative since the crying show post St Kilda game. Tredrea talked recently about speaking up in a meeting about the need to embrace expectation and ambition. Maybe he’s exerting a ruthless, winning mindset and Ken’s waking up a bit.

Good because Ken has a 'too hard' loser mentality.

Very satisfying win.

We still aren’t playing to our absolute best but the Nicks coached Crows always make it a slog for us, a great game to play and win so close to finals. The fact we stood up in a finals like game, with so much on the line, when we’ve so often wilted in the past was pleasing.

The Houston hit was the turning point, prior to that, for whatever reason, we just couldn’t get going. With a bit of heat in the game we kept our heads and the Crows players began losing theirs. That comparative level of maturity and experience was important.

I feel awful for Houston, he’ll miss the rest of the season. It was a split second decision and he didn’t appear to get Rankine high, but given how the game’s administrators and commentators loathe that sort of violence he’ll be hung, drawn and quartered. To me it looked like the contact with the ground was what KO’d Rankine, but it’s about outcome from the initial act now. I think the calls for 8 weeks are farcical (particularly when compared to incidents with actual malice, or like a king hit behind play - Gaff got 8 weeks and missed a premiership), but I don’t see him avoiding a 4+ week suspension. Would be nice to have some of that Maynard discounting but that isn’t happening for us.

Butters was huge, wish he’d clean up in front of goal more but he’s not an orphan there. I thought Jordan Sweet was epic, O’Brien has killed us in the past and Sweet did a great job at winning his position. To also play through the elbow issue and continue to get the job done was huge. Loved how Jase Burgoyne has come on in back half of the season. So many solid contributors last night though.

Looking forward to getting Georgie back so we can have a properly functioning forward line again.

So pleased to have locked in a double chance.

Their short memories also don't allow for the times when Charlie Cameron shirt fronted Dan Houston on two separate occasions.

He didn't get taken off on a stretcher but it rattled him. No free kick and no report. The only difference was that Rankine hit his head on the ground.
Yep, that stuck with me, not even a free nothing, off the ball sniper Dan was just a kid then.

One of them was right in front of me - you’re right no free for after disposal but on that occasion Cameron copped a fine, of course way after the event.

.
He really is a get out of jail card for our players.

He seems to find space so our players can kick to him to when they need a get out disposal.

His tackling is elite just needs to clean up his decisions and disposal which will come in time.

Wonder if Boak was on the angry pills last night because he knows it was his last showdown
Yeah it definitely like a guy desperate to leave a legacy.

Hopefully get infects the whole team for this finals series.

One last stand.

Sheeeeez the salt around the place from the crowies down the road, "umpires" "dirty players" "scum supporters"

It's bliss.

The hypocrisy too, read multiple comments before the game re Butters getting laid out etc etc, remember back when Rankine got done there was a significant amount of praise on their board for "showing some", but now it's all pearl clutching.

Re the game itself, I figured if we were still with them after the first qtr we would probably win, and it was an excellent, mature old school performance....not super pretty, but smart and tough. Loved the fact we got right under their skin, Sweet was enormous, JHF huge in the first, Butters game changer. Too bad he didn't convert those shots.

The PB are sex.
