Why do they always tell us that they’re awaiting scans even if it’s a Tuesday. When they can reveal Culleys results the next day.

It’s obvious PR and I’m sick of it.
It was a yes or no issue, scans largely confiratory. Possably he had less swelling than some?

Quite possibly he had scans in Melbourne and didnt wait to fly home. Melbourne is better set up for thsi.

Yep I honestly can't think of one thing I like about watching us at the moment.

The games are depressingly predictable, every week there's the early attempt to be competitive, the quarter where the opposition engages and we get completely obliterated and then some more non descript football followed by the late game obliteration once non fit players and kids run out of legs. Every week the opposition's best players do as they please, and we get to see 4-5 guys who are plainly never ever going to be AFL standard flounder around way out of their depth, and 4-5 senior guys who are plainly carrying injuries or horribly out of form but getting a game because there's noone else.

Even this week the only thing which changed is Richmond were horrendously inaccurate in the second term when they were monstering us- they were clearly on top throughout and once Bolton and Martin got tired of messing about they destroyed us.

In this sort of situation pretty much the only thing which gives fans pleasure is seeing kids show promise but even that is totally joyless now, our promising kids are either injured or plainly copping too heavy a load because the injury list means they can't be rested, and some of the others who are getting games (XON, Trew, Clark).are just utterly non descript nothing players who plainly will never amount to anything. Watching Ginbey show initial flashes of brilliance and then have his form go south as the club flogs him with minutes well beyond anything a first year should get is incredibly depressing- i feel like the club is pretty much walking him into a OP or hamstring injury by playing him way beyond what is sensible or desirable.

I honestly don't know what to say at this point. Its just become a complete chore and not remotely fun. And if that's how fans feel * knows how the players are coping.
Completely agree with everything you’ve put across in this post apart from running Ginbey into the ground. He has played in defence recently and had the lowest tog of any player on the weekend at 64%.

Clearly they’re trying to manage his load while playing in the big league.

There has got to be a correlation between our injuries over that pas few years and our moves to both Perth Stadium and our new training ground. Im not saying the Cully injury is related as its a ligament, but the amount of injuries, especially leg injuries, has me thinking they need to at least investigate the possibility of the hard surface contributing to the carnage. Plenty of injuries come from wear and tear, players being 90% right then pushing through and injuring themselves.

At least the club should be saying "we looked into this and its valid/rubbish".

Yeah I tend to agree that the club’s silence isn’t helping itself in any way. Come out and talk about the injury list and the S&C , let us know what the club has discovered or discussed.

Surely they haven’t just thrown there hands in the air over the last 18 months and gone it’s just all bad luck.

Maybe it is bad luck but at least discuss the issue so it clears the air.

MCG surface is pretty good , Culley hurt the knee playing there just wonder the affect of training on the obviously harder surface over a period of time .
WC need to manage our list now , hardly train midweek because of the injury list and how do we condition players to play the game at the moment.

Optus surface - the Dockers have one of the healthiest lists in the comp

Lathlain - the Perth Demons have the fewest injuries in the comp

hmm, well that leans towards not the surface then. What about footwear? Perhaps it is the type of exercises they do? anyhow, speculation aside, its not fans that need to look into it, hopefully the club will note that we have no chance of sucess with all our players injured

I think our list profile has as much to do with it as anything. A lot of beaten up older bodies combined with plenty of young, growing bodies becoming accustomed to heavy workloads puts us more at risk than most.

When things are this bad it's likely a combination of problems. I think you're right about the age profile and I think the issue is also combined with a need to quickly increase burst running capacity to keep up with the current game style. It seems like a lot of the old boys don't have it in them and the young ones are still building their strength.

As others have said, we're now stuck in a cycle where we can't rest those that are struggling, increasing their risk of injury as well.

Burgiel, Hough and Long all with the main group doing the usual jog/walk warm up laps. As is Kelly

Bazzo and Hewett doing boundary runs together separate from the main group

SPS on light duties with his upper leg heavily strapped

No sign of Allen

Naitanui and Ryan walked a lap and are now doing handballs

Bwilliams, Jamieson, Duggan and what looks like Winder among a group doing light duties

You'd imagine they'll run BBBBBBBW in cotton wool as our only senior ruckman who has multiple niggles.

Were you the only one there today? Surely people are giving up given how dire the situation is

Would be great if we could just close up the club early for the season and all go to the pub and then start again next year.

Out of those who played Richmond, only Waterman, Darling and obviously Culley didn’t appear at any stage. Several did not much but that isn’t unusual

Chesser did his own thing away from the main group but did tell one of the young kids there he’d be playing this weekend

Hewett and Bazzo also did extra work beyond what anyone else was doing. Hewett showing no sign of being troubled by his ankle so a return shouldn’t be far off

Good news also on Hough, Burgiel and Long who all did the full, albeit very light session. As with Hewett, they shouldn’t be far off and possibly as soon as this week

Harry Edwards also trained and whilst there was some strapping on his wrist it was pretty insignificant

Might see a few tests in tomorrow’s injury report - by my count there’s as many as 8 who could be back this week or next based on what I saw today

Shuey also made an appearance kicking some high balls to Barrass and Allen doing some low key contested marking work

Wow - imagine if we actually had a squad to select from after the bye? We could get some development in and maybe win a couple of games.

Plenty to look forward to inaddition to watching the development of Allen and Ginby. A few or the 'role players' not tjat I like the term are realy having a crack as well. Who knows who will emerge as a player

Any ‘role players’ in particular?

One guy kicked a career high four goals earlier in the season and then backed it up with another four goals in Gather Round. Is that the sort of ‘having a crack’ you mean?

Stick with Tottenham Hotspurs
I'd rather stick you on the mute list TBH pal, you're arguably the worst poster on the board and that's a low bloody bar. You had the nerve to talk about garbage on the board. Glass houses.

Stick to rugby league. You'll fit in better with that crowd.

Are there any turfheads out there that can tell my Optus looks so bad.

The new turf they laid after the Ed concert looked dead?

I find it strange they can’t get it right.
