I mean...you just have to laugh now. Mineral Resources Park has to have been built on an ancient Indigenous burial ground or something
The club will be happy it’s another “impact” injury not a soft tissue I suppose
Such crap takes on our situation hope you blokes are just joking.

Hasn’t there been major changes to the S+C over the last few years?

The only ones they’d be at fault for would be the older players doing soft tissue s**t and it’s arguable whether it’s even possible to prevent that given the travel load our players are under their entire career.

All the injuries to the young guys have just been s**t luck

We’ve made one change to our S&C department and it wasn’t one of the senior staff. How is it that half our younger players also have soft tissue injuries?

Going too hard too early because most of the old players are out injured?

Our list balance is pretty shot. Massive void around 27 yr olds and so we are throwing 18 and 19 year olds into the fray too early.

Look at the Swans, it takes years for most of their draftees to get a game. Same with Geelong.

Are you
A) top 10 in the best and fairest and crucial to the structure of the team?
B) The logical backup for one of A)?
C) An exciting young prospect who gives the fans hope for the future?

Congratulations, you're now out for TBC.

Seriously you could follow football for 40 years and never hit a patch as bad as these past two seasons, its utterly, utterly incredible.

Independant investigation needed.

This this plain ridiculous.

Someone mentioned the Eagles engaged some world expert on new ground / surfaces and we stuffed it up. Not an expert in WA grounds. Not enough topsoil and our training grounds are too hard.

Freo went local and nowhere as many issues.

Is Trevor covering his arse here?

Sweeping this under the carpet? Sounds like an AFL thing to do.

At the stage where I simply do not trust what the club is saying publically.

This debarcle is just as much about poor list management, poor grounds management, soft cap cuts and falling behind in the S&C race. Other clubs have addressed these issues much better than we have and the Eagles are paying the price.

If the training grounds are the problem, haven't we had them since 2019?
The rate of injuries haven't been as frequent and regular as this year.
IIRC even looking at last year most of the major injuries happened during preseason and most of the other absences were due to covid.
If it's due to an accumulation of years training there, it doesn't explain the injuries to the 1st and 2nd year players.
Somehow things have gotten worse this year.

At least two of our young players - Culley and Chesser - have been badly injured being pushed when vulnerable in marking contests. I think our players need to be tougher and more aware in these situations.
I wonder whether they are coached about this.
Today Broad clearly pushed Culley when he was off the ground and off balance; last year Acres pushed Chesser in the back when he was airborne. It can be said that Broad did nothing wrong but his action was borderline within the rules and Culley wouldn’t have done his knee without Broad’s help.
clutching straws, just like the trining surface - irrelevant to the injury

Regardless of how we've managed the list and the S&C team, we've had a staggering amount of bad luck this year to go with it.

It's getting harder and harder to have bad takes about the state of our list, so kudo's to those going above and beyond.

If we seriously think that this is the problem, then just tear it up and start again! We have the money. Do it one oval at a time and get it right.
Trev can save face by saying we are addressing every possibility.

I wouldnt assume SPS is straight back this week.

Schofield on his pod said he was having internal bleeding issues on the muscle. From memory said he has to get it cut to help the blood drain.

Might be a few weeks, but club didn't help with the TBC last week

The way we're going I'm expecting the next dislocated finger to require a full arm amputation.

Chesser will play football those week but really needs to play some WAFL

SPS for Culley
At this point I disagree - if he's fit just play him in the AFL side. He can be told to work on whatever he needs to work on and it's hardly going to cost us a game. And he gets to build experience playing with Ginbey and others who he will actually be playing with long term.

The only potential concern is perhaps the negative spotlight being put on him if he has a few quiet games but it's something Simmo could stamp out if he explains why there isn't much value in playing our young guys in the WAFL right now.

Culley one was bad luck. Shoulder to shoulder in a marking contest, there is always going to be physical contact/pressure.

The Chesser one was dangerous. It’s odd the AFL are so concerned about certain actions (and generally when it come to the MRO, the name of the player committing the action), but a guy misses 12 months because of a dangerous mid air push and we hear nothing.

That one has been and gone, but it would be nice to see the AFL start to come down hard on acts like that (with 100% awareness that Gov and some others will need to change with the rules, as we as a team push players mid air also)

this stuff is just regurgitated versions of emotive garbage, such is BF. I we are to ctitisise the club it needs to be evidence based.

At the start of the season i was keen for him to get some consistency and form in the WAFL. Now theres no benefit in playing him in the wafl.
