I wonder if anyone has a stat or record of our injury list of 2015-2019 pre season and 2019 mid season -2023 to compare so pre Mineral Turd ground and post Mineral Turd ground

Id be very surprised if that terrible investment wasnt the beginning of our injury debacle

Some would say that means he is 'TBC' but if they aren't allowed to put that in the injury report either right?

Well no they're not, since they've seriously taken the piss with those 3 letters, and rightfully been called out by the media (as well as plenty on this board).

Other clubs who haven't treated their supporters like mugs can.

Miguel won the TBC battle
I’m not claiming that, they don’t give a stuff what I think. It was only when the media started having a go at them that they eased up on the months-long TBCs.

Jack Henry Foot Test
Ollie Henry Testicle Short term

If Nic Nat has ankle tendonitis, they really wouldn't be able to say when he will be ready to go - seriously its a total lottery post treatment on how they recover.

I have ankle tendonitis myself at the moment. I finished my final treatment about 6 weeks ago (shock wave therapy) and they say it takes up to 8 weeks for the pain to go. i still have on/off pain and might need 1 or 2 more zaps to get it right. You can see him still training, but he might be in a bit of pain when running etc.

pretty frustrating

I got diagnosed with tendonitis on my right ankle back in the days when I played footy.

Took some anti-inflammatories for a month, as doctor prescribed, and still not better.

Another 7 weeks later, went and saw a different doctor, who sent me for an X-ray.

Turns out I didn't have tendonitis at all. I had a clean broken fibula instead, which I was walking around on like normal, going to work, etc(****ing hurt like hell).

Maybe NN needs a second opinion?

They can do whatever the hell they like. And they do.

But if you give a timeline and it starts blowing out, at least give us some indication about why. I went back through those reports and all it says is “he’s progressing” and “he’s working hard in the gym”.

No doubt he’ll be “progressing” for the rest of the season and his return date will get gradually further away until it’s season over.

Why do we need to know why NNs progress back to playing is not completely linear and without setback? He's old and his Achilles are shot. They back him off, wait for it to settle, ramp up strength training on his legs, he gets sore, they back him off, rest him up for a week, try again.

It's not a direct A to B journey with all injuries all the time. I don't give two hoots about hearing how Nic ramped up training and had a minor set back so his return to play hasn't moved this week. I'm comfortable connecting those dots on my own.

Pick your battles. This is a strange hill to die on.

It’s not a hill I’m dying on. It’s just one more example of the opaqueness of their injury reporting.

I like that our S&C guy's nickname is killer and everyone is dead.
That was apparently the plan at the start of the season, to see who could handle the new fitness regime for the new gamestyle.

Clearly working, although a lot of them are contact injuries. Can't exactly plan for that, other than OD on milk.

Nic returning to play off an achilles injury is not as simple as one of the young pups coming back off a stock grade 1 hammy. It's a delicate area and he's an older player.

I can see why they ran with TBC because predicting how that injury would heal and how he would rebuild is throwing a dart at a dartboard for an outcome. They abandoned the TBC due to external pressure and put in a timeframe. I don't now expect them to tell us weekly every time Nics progress has slipped behind or he's had a minor setback. That should be expected given his age and the injury.

There's plenty to pot the club about, Im sure you've got the list, but I just don't think this is one. Doubtful we'll see him this year but it won't be for a lack of trying.

Nic Nat late 2023

It's more the absolute lie they sold supporters during the pre season that he'd be good to go early in the season that shits me, when they clearly knew he was/is cooked.

They know he's a huge drawcard and marketed him when they had no intention of playing him in the first half of the season, if at all.

NicNat kicking the footy now , building ....mid-term injury now , returns we win a few home games .
Naitanui Academy is Gold for WC , two players will be drafted from the Academy this draft hopefully to us .

Yeah that was dogshit I agree. Healthy NN sells hope. It's obviously taken a lot longer than anticipated to heal from rest and not responding as fast as they'd like to getting strength in it. The club and Nic would be working hard to get him back out there so I just don't see the point in sweating over a lack of updates when his timeline hasn't progressed in the linear fashion some injuries do.

If he gets out there it's a blessing, we need to make plans beyond him.

NicNat intermittent fasting.

From now til pre season next year do 20:4 IF and come back lean and no knee problems and run around like a spring chicken

On SM-S908E using BigFooty.com mobile app

He's been doing this. 20 hours of eating followed by 4 hours of sleeping.

Another example of a player the medicos sent out onto the field with a injury and that during the game his injury got alot worse

SPS had a cork and played half a game out with it. No doubt he copped another hard knock which caused the bleeding.
He was subbed within 10 minutes of it happening. The bigger question is probably post game management.
