Smythe thoughts on who Dogs will draft with pick 15 and 24?
I highly doubt there will be a good pick heading to the dogs, stranger things have happened, but I think he will be basically ‘bought’ from you by the saints and you will get a nominal pick and free cap space and that’s it.

Pick 15 referring to the Bailey trade

It should bump out to 17 or maybe 18, so maybe they would hope one of Berry, Lindsay, Hotton gets to them or they could go for one of Hynes, Davis which are the types of players Bevo loves. I think the dogs would be going for Xavier Lindsay personally.

Any thoughts on how this crop compares to last year?

Reid would be 1, but where would Mckercher and Sanders rank in this year's mix, compared to Levi, Draper, Langford, Jagga etc...

I'd still have McKercher at 2 this year.
I'd have Smith and Draper ahead of Sanders but he'd sit comfortably around Lalor and Smillie IMO.

Hi SMYTHE's this may have been done already but i have to ask. Coupled with our own picks who you would have pencilled in or hope to still be there at the picks people are talking we may get , ie 6 and 20 Rioli, 9 and 16 Bolton, 13 Baker, 22 or 40 Graham.

Personally i like players with power and pace so for me the mids with our first two picks
1 Draper, 6 Lalor. these two are beauts.
At 9 Armstrong we need a kpf so was not prepared to let him slide past here. If Travaglia was still there here then you would have to consider him., He is now being talked as the best tall in the draft and exactly what we need.

Hotten 13 mid /fwd , sort of our Bolton replacement. Lindsay 16 classy outside mid we need ball users and pace on the wings., Hynes at 20 fwd we do not have one medium sized forward on the list outside of Cumberland who may be delisted. Clarke at 21 hb.. to replace Rioli.

We could still have 22, 29 39, and 41 to target wingers sml fwd kpp ruck and take the best available in each area.

Agree - we would stay with McKercher at 2 - he uses it better than Smith.

Reid
McKercher
Ashcroft
Walter
Smith
Draper
FOS
Duursma
Smille
Watson

Cannot fault those picks in terms of needs for Richmond. I too, love Draper and Lalor. Lindsay and Hotton will probably have to be switched around in order and I think 21 maybe too early for Clarke and you have Travaglia (in this scenario) for that position already, and i say Travaglia because i think he will be available at 9 and Armstrong will not be. So with that 21, an available tall fwd perhaps, that is if they don't use that pick 6 for Armstrong if he is there or that pick 13 for a tall before they are gone. I dare say all those other picks will be traded (some in a mix to brisbane for their first rounder thus year and some to essendon for futures)
When it comes to the Graham compo, I would think it will be more around the pick 40 mark

Lalor seems to be coming for pick 1 with a head of steam. Thoughts?
Cal saying its Lalor or FOS.

If I had to place a bet i think FOS will be 1st player called out. But Lalor plays like Dusty so that would be a big appeal for the Tigers.

I would be happy with Lalor, FOS, Langford or Smille. Pass on Smith, Draper & Reid - who will be good but at 180cm is not needed at North - at least FOS plays tall and is a good mark.

Plus there's this, very possible:View attachment 2131374
That's come out Snake because of the backlash over in WA about the east media continually saying we are giving up pick 14 for Baker when we know it grossly over paying
Especially when the kid drafted there will be a much better player than Baker will be
WCE having been copying it from members over this so much that Pyke came out here in WA with a much stronger
statement about not giving up early picks

I still think unfortunately we will give up pick 13 and 61 for Baker but demand back from Richmond 31 and 41 and 43
something silly like that

Is Baker that good?

Is Baker that good?

Depends if your team is trading for him or not.

If they are he’s obviously awful, otherwise he’s a guy that can play forward, back very well and pinch hit in the middle. A really good kick, tough as nails, clean at ground level and loves to pressure. A perfect 8-14 player on a really good team.

I don’t think WCE should trade for him though, but would be excellent at Freo and very much worth a pick in teens.

If Richmond and the eagles were going to cook the books they wouldnt let Baker go PSD

They would trade him for F2 and do other pick swaps during the draft like Richmond trade 2 x 2nd rounders to move up 3-4 spots

If they did pay $900k x 5 years the AFL would have to give richmond pick #2 after the perryman & battle fiasco
Graham is a 2 time premiership player in the leadership group same age and same stats

Would the 2 clubs have the gonads to do it as it would certainly cause backlash
