SNFL Div 4 discussion 2022

Div 4 standard is as bad as you'll ever see local footy. Watching the highlights on facebook must be embarrassing.

I think covid has had a huge impact on div 4 sides, half these teams struggled for numbers before covid hit. Div 4 is a lot worse than it was in 2018/19

Covid has hit every division. Division 3 was essentially set up as a 7 team competitive league before the season but then every week a new team looks better or 10 goals worse. Some sides have played close to 50 in seniors this season. Impossible to predict week to week

Only Frankston have improved by going out and buying all these players! Lyndhurst same side as last few years, Hallam no different, Sth morno unknown, dandy maybe slight improve, Moorabin getting worse, lyndale struggletown, Cerberus polar opposite to last couple years and doveton eagles need we say more

I heard with South Mornington, that they got a bunch of old Mornington Bulldogs players who were told they weren't in the senior team picture this year at the dogs. Not sure of the legitimacy but seems likely given their improvement

Every team has had their phases in 3 and 4, injuries happen every year and then you add covid on top and now the flu. It is a mess. CPL and Narre had a thirds team for one week, then all of a sudden they were playing half those guys in the ressies, now they have a full side in thirds again. I assume EHills is much the same. Just depends on which week it hits your club, gets everyone eventually

I know a couple of them are from Mornington. I think they get fourth this year. It will be interesting to see how they go against Lyndhurst and Hallam on the smaller citation oval. They use that ground really well

And lyndhurst normally dont play a smaller ground well. Has caused issues for them in the past in close games.

Any stand out players we have seen this season so far? Lyndhurst have picked up Matt O'Callaghan, which is big, a league bnf winner. Andy Mathers and Rich Mathers have been dominating for mine. Sharlassian also

Play for the last 10years good hard fair player never seen him do anything dirty on the football field and probably past his best football days but will be a great pick up for a Div 4side

Yes he did and he’s the first to admit it was a shit thing to do iv never seen him even have a argument with anyone let alone what happened that night was totally out of character think alcohol and maybe something else contributed to that incident but that’s no excuse do the crime do the time

Given the Mt Waverley DNA in the team, a GF day collapse is never out of the question.

Seems unlikely though.

If they are beating 3rd place by 100+ then i guess lyndhurst is their only challenger, not sure how their first game went but seemed like frankston beat them reasonably well too. Cant see them losing it this year, but we love seeing Mt.Waverly blokes shit the bed

Scariest part for others team below these 2 sides is neither are at full strength yet and are still dominating sides
