Really? Compare their careers then...

If we are paying pick 25... I know who I'd choose if given the choice. Motlop has better stats and more durability

Lets factor in Motlop has played in a successful side that has competed in finals nearly every year since he got there versus WHE who has landed at a development club coping hidings most weekends before we try to read too much into the stats aspect.

Who said we're paying pick 25?

Either way, happy to agree to disagree.

I think Motlop is a reasonable pick up. I know he can frustrate, but he averaged 19.5 disposals this year and kicked 38 goals for the year. I would rather him for pick 25 than the largely unproven Hoskin-Elliott
yeah when you put it like that so would I actually

I'm warming back up to Motlop now. His finals performance has probably overshadowed my logical reasoning on the guy. He started the year fat and unfit, played like he didn't want to be there half the time and still averaged 20 touches and 38 goals. He'll be handy if we get him fit and motivated. We have the chance to land an elite talent on the cheap here.

I'd love him, but is there any actual smoke here or is ius getting him purely a hypothetical wish/fear?

This was my immediate reaction too. I'm not a fan of Motlop, but saying that WHE, a player who has proven absolutely nothing in 5 years of being on an AFL list is a better option? lol....

I reckon this will be reflected in trade value. I'll be surprised if we pay Pick 25 for WHE.

Apparently he is on the table. It's pretty clear Geelong aren't happy with him and/or vice versa. He is cheap if you believe the rumors that a second rounder gets him. Have not heard anything linking us to him though.

With rumours of Rockliff on the move, and maybe that it might be to us... wondering how people feel he will fit into our best 22. Let's take the personal side out the conversation for now, that's probably for another thread/discussion.

Rockliff is a great player, no doubt, however yet another inside mid to our ever growing list. Does this mean a more permanent move for Pendles to half back or half forward? Does this mean Sidey becomes a full time forward flanker and starts kicking more goals?

he would be swans replacement. clearance mid who can kick goals.

wells plays outside / half back (helps prolong his career).

I think you underrate Wells inside play. I appreciate you're suggesting he should play outside to prolong his career and use his ball use talents, but he can read a ball pretty well and doesn't mind getting his hands dirty.

That aside, I think we've got in-and-under mids covered. Yes we lose Swan but we've still got Pendles, Treloar, Adams, Greenwood, Crisp, Aish and Wills, we get Thomas back in 2017, and we'll hopefully see Sier emerge in 2017. Not sure we need more inside grunt.

Nice Snoop,
You have left both Brown and Daicos out of the top 40, I really hope this is the case come draft day. I see Daicos has a knee complaint and is not taking part in the combine which is convenient.

I am campaigning to get Sam Pepper-Powell to the club , just love this kid. Looks like he did alright in the goal kicking test which is a surprise!

Where do you rate this fella from the WAFL that is kicking and marking his way to being a smokey for the draft, Ryan I think is his last name?

Yep SPP is something special and to be fair his testing was better than I expected. Ryan a ripper. Would be a type that would be handy.

sorry jackass, maybe I wasn't clear in my post. we have plenty of guys who can do the grunt work. I think / hope wells is on the outside, gliding past and hitting darcy. fas etc on the chest from the wing. the upside of playing outside is avoiding the heavy contact.

I'm nervous about the trade but only that's due to Wells's age.

Interesting you mention Wells' delivery inside F50. He was equal first for goal assists in the AFL and 29.5% of kicks inside 50, hit a target. Definitely fills a need.

Didn't realise that.
Sounds better the more I find out

Given the success we had integrating a semi reliable performer in Varcoe into our system with some excellent results, I'd be backing us in to do the same with Motlop. He has a lot of talent and addresses a need, moreso than WHE in my opinion.

Snoop Dog what do you make of the Marley Williams for Ben Lennon rumours and your thoughts on Lennon as a player?

As a player I like Ben as he has talent and skill but I am worried it's a recruit in an area of the ground we have a few floating through particularly if WHE comes along. Not so much similar players but more that we have a lot of players who can fill that spot. I'd probably rather a pick around 30-40 for him.

Did you watch the prelim? It's a no from me
