Port wanted to go straight into Div 1

I believe any club coming across from another league shouldn't start in the top division. They should have to earn that right.
Everyone thought Keysborough would steamroll the comp last year, but they didn't for a number of reasons, and with Port only winning 5 games in their last 2 seasons, it's not a great look to gift them immediate entry into the SFL's top division.

Should have sent them to div 3 and brought Port colts in

Why bring up port colts? We don't know how they'll go in div 2 yet.

Yeah but asking a div 2 team to come after playing in that division most teams want to do it by winning the flag

East Brighton's seniors lost to one of Bentleigh's reserves sides on Saturday. This could be a very long year

Hasn't Beena lost a few? Either way they've still got to get through a year, if colts belong in div 1 they should win most games so this is a very good start

Dingley put St Pauls to the sword and you have to wonder who is going to knock them off this year? St Pauls would not want to fall over against Bentleigh this week. The new coach may be under some pressure. Luckily they have EB in Round three, so there is a guaranteed win.

Agreed...even at this early point it's hard to see anyone matching them. Be interesting to see how Mordy (one of the few sides that might) go when they play Dingley this week.

Not too far off there, but is it possible that you (like many others) have underrated the Districts? A pretty good GF win last year, and Fermanis back can only help?

Districts will do well this year, think theyll finish 6th. But the win is really only against Cheltenham who aren't looking too great this season

If there is anyone that can challenge dingley that is, but in the short, yes. I think we'll see that the final 2 spots in finals won't be decided until the final rounds. Will be another Dingley dominated season I'm afraid

This year will be more competitive at least as more teams will be able to challenge them.

Dingley, EM and Bentleigh look finals certainties...and I'm tempted to throw the Oaks in there as well. They looked good in last year's GF, the gap between Div 1 and 2 is not as great as it once was, and with the addition of Fermanis, Pearson and Ades to an already good list, I think they'll win more than they lose...

Dingley, EM and Bentleigh look finals certainties...and I'm tempted to throw the Oaks in there as well. Definitely think if they can put Clayton away they've got the 4th spot in finals locked down with Clays/Mordi/City to be the main contenders for that final spot
