You need to find a second quality tall fwd capable of a 40 goal season.

Simple as that.

Those names you mentioned just arent that good .

I think between Sharman, Marshall and Battle we can fill the gap well enough.

Initial reports were suggesting that King will only miss the start of the season. We'll be fine.

Saints fwd line is the obvious area of weakness.

Yes Max King is a gun but one player isn't enough.

I know Melbourne won a flag without an amazing fwd line but Geelong just had Cameron, Hawkins and Stengle kick 164 goals between them for the season.
Well I don’t think anyone’s predicting us to be a huge premiership threat next season- even when Max returns- but Collingwood also just had a great season, and their 2022 forwardline would have been inferior to our potential forward options next year of:

King
Membrey
Hayes/Sharman
Gresham?
Higgins
Butler
Billings/Wood
Phillipou/Hotton

Membrey is very underrated. Kicked 44 goals from just 17 games at 22yo, and then came top 10 in the Coleman with 44 goals, in the last season before King came in and had to play at FF.

In the 3 years since he had a bad year in the Covid bubble of 2020, but in the two years since that he’s finished 3rd and 4th in the respective B&F’s. Playing a more roaming role.

So while Max is out he could easily go back to FF and kicking goals, while Wood or Sharman could take his roaming role.

Battle and the returning Jack Hayes are other marking options.

One wildcard is Higgins.

Started this year on fire, kicking bags of goals, but then concussions clearly took the wind out of his sails. Still managed to kick 30 goals, from approx 16.5 games.

Looks in far better physical condition this preseason, so could easily be about to explode and kick 40-50 goals. 80 games under the belt now and 24yo next year.

Gresham is equally talented, and Ross and co, may choose to play him mostly forward, after 3 years of injuries.

Your comment is garbage. Membrey is one of the best lead up forwards in the AFL. Gresham and Higgins have proved to be very good small forwards.
Gresham is wanting to play mid I think. He's playing much more mid these days.

Higgins is good agreed.

If they are so great how do u explain they had the 4th worst for scoring in the afl in 2022?

Membrey played 22 games and was 35th in goals.

So whats ur definition of "one of the best"?

I'd sat anyone averaging over 2 goals a game is a gun.

Over 1.5 is good. So Hggins and Membrey are good.

But let's not carried away. They aren't top 30.

But 3 fwds in top 40 is pretty good. Ur right.

Geelong had 3 in top 20.

Tigers 3 in top 30.

I feel like young Sharman could be key if he can bulk up.

Would make Saints fwd line deadly when Kimg comes back.

Except it's not rubbish and u haven't called anything out.

Still the 4th worst attack in 2022.

You also think 114 goals and 68 are equal.

And if im wrong so are the bookies.

Apparently only u have some special genius knowledge the defies the facts.

Nothing you have said backs your call that Membrey Gresham and Higgins are no good. Put Membrey up forward for Melbourne the last two seaons he'd have kicked similar and wouldn't be required behind the ball.
