A few points for you that have been brought up.

As aussierulesrules can attest, we were seriously looking at Mitch Brown from Geelong when he was delisted, in fact we tracked him that whole season.
Wasn't that the year prior to the year he was delisted, or even the year before that? You told me we were seriously looking into him either in the year when we had the big crack at West Coast's Mitch Brown (2012), or else the year after, when we eventually settled on Delaney (2013). Actually, it would have been the latter. Brown then got delisted at the end of the following season, 2014.

As I've said many times with Blake it'll take time for his kicking specifically to become better as he adjusts to the speed of the game. Give it 30 -45 games efore you see his kicking become better. However it seemed as though when he came back on in the last qaurter he was much more manic around the ball getting involved in more chains. Specifcally he had three clearances alone in that qaurter. Considering in one quater alone he had more or equal clearances to everyone else in the team bar one i think it says a lot about his inside work. I can already see since his frist few games he is getting better at using his size in the contest. For instance yesterday there was a play where he was being tackled and it seemed as though it would become a stoppage but due to his stregth he free his arms and fed out. Also in the first quarter his frist clearance was very Mundy like in that he just waltzed through the stoppage and without anyone touching him managed to feed it out. All we need is signs from Blake. With time will come consistancy and continuity. Last as i stated above those concerned with his kicking once he gets set with the tempo of AFL he will become much better with his kciking

Blake probably needs to go back to the VFL and start dominating not just on the ball, but also up forward there, as they are the areas he's going to have to play well in if he's to play a meaningful role for us this season. It's no good to us if he's only able to get into the game when playing on the ball if we don't have a spot for him there for most of the game.

Oliver came from nowhere and seems to have come in via the back door but gee he looks good. I think his dad was Cameron Ling and his mum was a bowl of mashed potato though, I've seen more attractive parasites. Gresham was a great get and couldn't be happier so far. Billings is a very nice player and looks like he could be the only blue chip kid on our list so far. Anyway, I don't really care about Brown now, he's a bomber and Im just happy for him that unlike most he gets another go and for deserved reasons.
His Mum is actually quite attractive, just a loose cannon at the footy

Its all there it just needs to click over the next few seasons, our talent is young but jeez its good. The huge concern for me was Melbournes scoring off turnovers, we just got burned every time need to find a way to cover and stop a few of those turnovers turning into goals, also managed to make Jack Watts look like a superstar which bothered me probably more than it should.

I was at the game and Jack Watts looked way less than a superstar. He got some cheap frees ( I think they worry about his softness and umpire accordingly) otherwise he stands back from contests and does unforgivably dumb things at times. Melbourne dangerous because they have large number of smalls who can score. Kent and Garlett destroyed us by not standing still while our defenders disrespected them. Melbourne have recruited a bunch of limited but contest ready mids like Vince, Tyson, Bugg and Mitchie. They have also gone mid heavy in recruiting. with guys like Salem, Viney, Vandenberg, Bradshaw, oliver etc all showing a bit. they are a running side now with a bit more system.

I think Brian has obviously got some inside knowledge and I actually like that they back their guy in. Most would agree he looks on track to be something pretty special. Not all our kids do. Bont started like a bullet but wasn't quite as good late last year. It will be a reference point for all the good kids from that draft because he really was the first to establish himself as a gun of the future. Don't trust Lenny or Jack Steven.

Lenny or Jack? What do they have to do with this. I have no idea if he has inside knowledge but I reckon Browns dad is pretty good inside knowledge. Billings will be something special for sure but so is Bont.

Arent Billings and Bont two totally different type players?

Dont know how to compare them.

11 marks and 2 goals from a wing... If it was Riewoldt we would be talking about how he is going to tear it apart this year.

Please note I am saying that we (as in the saints playing against him yesterday) did everything they could to make him look amazing.

He likes space and players who can't match up with his run and or height and we gave him both all day long.

No not more often than not. He is disposal is ordinary. He has other attributes. Murdoch kicks the ball very well. Pity he isn't good enough to get a game.
He's good at shutting players down that's it, it's not like it's the first time he's butchered the ball all game he does it week in week out

I think we should be more realistic with our expectations of Acres. The kid has only played ten games. And I would be surprised if five of those have been full games as he was used as the sub a fair bit.
We're in the middle of a rebuild. To expect Hawthorn like skills from our team will only bring disappointment. Especially in a NAB!
In a couple of years after more games into our kids and a couple more trade/draft periods our team will be superb.

Agree we are on slow rebuild , as not giving Acres a long term deal I am glad we did.
Played poorly yesterday , had a few mates so given the negative comment on Blake .
Do we take Weller out of the leadership group because he had a shocker ?

Of course not.

Just enjoy the ride .
