Scares me alot losing Kennedy, especially after a VFL games last year when he kicked 5 goals, most from pack crashing mark, Jonathon Brown like. I know it was the VFL but gee it looked so impressive. Pagan's near destroyed him with his game plan and the way he used him. I'm sure you'll get something good there by the time he's 22. As I said, it does scare me alot to lose him but Judd is Judd and you do what you have to do (within reason). If he goes we wish him all the best.

Interesting concept actually .... Juddy, come to Carlton and aside from your salary, Visy will donate 'x' million dollars to 'x' conservation organisation. That is not personal income for Judd. Hmm, I wonder .........

Considering the real reasons for Judd leaving the weagles, I can believe the conservation bit...

Find out which organisations Judd donates to and offer to go 10 - 1 for every dollar he donates. So if he annually donates 100k to something like the world Wildlife Fund, we would match his 100k and top it up with another 900k.

The club could also make him the spokesman for our own conservation organisation.

Even if that is true not all of it would be in the salary cap? I thought you are allowed to give a player a certain amount outside the cap under marketing or something like that.

Yes. 300-400k per year marketing component. Supposed to be a freebie for marketing payments to players above and beyond their usual function attendance and the like. Usually it goes on one player i.e Kouta, maybe Fev. That would take Judd down to $1mill per year plus the marketing payment.

3 , Kennedy (not sure why the Eagles would want him) and 20 is the deal that many Carlton fans have been talking about for a while. While pick 3 is fair i'm not so sure about Kennedy. Maybe Carlton will offload Kennedy to another club and get an upgraded pick (above 20) to offer to the Eagles. Two picks inside 12 say would be more use to the Eagles than pick 20 and a player who would struggle to make the side.

Why do people see the present and not the future. How many KPPs would have been lost to the game if their future was decided at 20 years of age? He has played 22 games in two years with interrupted preseasons for crying out loud. When he did play, at one point his forward leads were ignored 80 times out of 89, because we were so Fev-centric. Then he would be on the bench 90% of the game or Pagan would play him in the ruck.

Anyway, the whole point of trading him is not because we don't want him or because he won't make it, because he will, but because he is a WA boy and more likely to want to go to the Eagles than most of our list who are not WA boys. We also asked Bower. Benjamin is another but has no value and is a first year player and I don't think Luke Blackwell will get the job done somehow.

Sending Josh to any other club bar Fremantle is madness.

It was Ratten who had the spring in his step. If it had have been Wayne Hughes there may be merit in what you are saying.
