So thanks to the awesome Kennedy Parker you will notice a sticky post at the top of the pages now. This link will take you directly to the Swans YouTube channel which features interviews etc.

COLLINGWOOD coaching contender Don Pyke is officially out of the race for the job after deciding to remain with Sydney.
Pyke was at one stage considered the favourite to replace Nathan Buckley given his vast industry experience and his key role in rejuvenating the Swans’ ball movement in 2021.

But the Herald Sun can reveal the former Adelaide coach has told Collingwood’s coaching subcommittee that he will not progress through their process after initial discussions with the five-member panel.

Collingwood will still wait for a final answer from four-time premiership coach Alastair Clarkson, despite him suggesting he is ready for a 12-month break from football.

The Pyke decision is believed to be heavily influenced by his family and his determination to remain with the Swans as they finish building an impressive team approaching the premiership window.

Current Hawthorn assistant coach Craig McRae, already seen as a strong contender to secure the role, will now be seen as the man to beat in the race for the role, given a pair of exceptional interviews with Collingwood.

McRae, 47, has not only has experienced successful programs including Richmond, Hawthorn and Collingwood in a long coaching career, he has won a string of endorsements from senior figures at those clubs who believe he is a senior coach in waiting.

Collingwood’s caretaker coach Robert Harvey said on the weekend he would have discussions with Magpies football boss Graham Wright about his path ahead and whether he would be formally interviewed for the role after standing in for the past 10 weeks.

He was seen to do a strong job in helping to blood eight debutants, but he also has a number of suitors including West Coast if he decides to move clubs.

23AUG21: Don Pyke talk/Multiple
Well, the Magpie fans have convinced themselves he withdrew because 'he wasn't getting the job anyway' :rolleyesv1::tongueoutv1: I don't care - I'm just happy that he's happy to stay with the Swans.

Who would honestly want to work there at the moment? Even Scott Pendlebury is shopping his wares to rival clubs.

24AUG21: Swans talk/SEN

Sam edmund also said other clubs don't have cash to sign players. Yet the media has said clubs are chasing swans players :/

Dunno which one is true lol.

if you read between the lines of all these sorts of stories over a period time you'll find so many contradictions and just as many that are simply wrong, but it's not like the journos are going to fill print/digital space with "oh, and by the way, i was wrong about..." stories
as someone else posted, none of them had a clue about how bad collingwood's situation was ... and if they did, they kept quiet, probly because they're based in melbourne and c'wood is such a big fckng deal there, none of them wants to upset the c'wood bigwigs (or in eddie's case, fatwigs) ... yet they'll take any kind of shot at a club like sydney coz they don't care who they upset there ... it's almost a respect (or fear) thing ...
has there ever been any serious scrutiny of geelong's list and payments in recent years? or carlton's? or event st kiddingthemselves? how were they paying brad hill's ridiculous contract when they'd signed hannebery a coupla years earlier? as well as juggling contracts for the likes of steele, membrey, marshall, et al, and now max king will be asking for what he's worth
but the swans, gold coast, GWS, freo ... fair game for vic journos coz they don't count ...
and coz they have loads of talented young players emerging every year, ripe for speculative stories at this time of year that these journos are never held accountable for ... how many journos get sacked for wrong trade stories?

Surely we wouldn't have salary cap issues at this point? We've known the set up of our team for a while, we've added youth and depth players over the last few years.

We've had to pay a little extra to keep a couple of the younger guys, and apart from buddy, it's not like we have the absolute cream of the AFL as our senior core. Where is all the money going?

When's Sam Reid's contract up?
How much are we paying the heeneys etc.
I wonder if paps got a contract upgrade (would be deserved imo)

Surely we're not chasing a big name from another club.

Maybe just a case that other clubs are valuing Stephens and hewett And are willing to pay overs to bring them across (The latter being absolutely warranted and would actually be an astute move).

We shouldn't have cap issues(finished bottom 4 2 seasons in a row!) but somehow we do obviously the club isn't publicly going to say it heck Ned Guy denied a cap squeeze at Collingwood but Tony Armstrong said we shopped Hewett and Allir around due to a squeeze last season.

Quite a few pro Swans media figures have all said the same thing we will find out in a month or so.
