I find Brereton find when he's analysing a play, but when he talks anything remotely to do with suspensions/reports he becomes mindless.

Completely agree there. His analysis of tactics is usually really good, but he is also stuck in the 80's when it comes to things you could do on the field 30 years ago that you are not allowed to do anymore. He is always in favour of letting the player off no matter what they did, and bemoans the game for not allowing players to do the things they used to do.

I may be in the minority but I don't mind David King. I am also putting myself out there but I don't mind Dermott Brereton either, at least from an analyst point of view.

I agree with both. Kingy used to be somewhat anti Swans. But he seems to have grown up. Dermie is just a big kid larrikin. He is harmless.

I mean, the academies are working. Not sure what the issue will be? It's not like we only won because of the academy players. Florent, Rowbottom & McCartin were immense. The difference is we cannot offer mature players like Jones contracts to come home and help us lift......

I will never understand this power ranking thing, surely us and Adelaide should be the first two teams.
Their criteria "This is our attempt to rank every AFL club from best to worst right now. We take wins and losses into account, but also the quality of opposition faced and whether teams are likely to get healthier or improve going forward. If a team is above another, we’d probably tip them to beat them at a neutral venue."
Surely on those two basics alone, the Crows and the Swans are the best teams so far this season.

He's back baby!!

I think it is too early to bring him back. After playing only 50% of a game in 12 months. That could spell disaster. He did not even score a goal and the intensity at that level is not the same. He will be under intense pressure this week.

I would prefer he got a full game under his belt before coming back. But they will do what they will do. I just hope he does not become the main focus of our forward movement or the Crows will slaughter us. We need to maintain the type of play we used in the first game. If we do that we win.

Many times Joey was ignored in favour of better options. Lance needs to suffer the same fate. If there is a better option our young blokes must take it. Not just young blokes. But that may be difficult for players who have been constantly told over the years 'kick it to Lance'

Oh, I'm not saying it's justified. I'm just saying it's coming. Wait for Collingwood to have a particularly bad week or something and Eddie will put it on the agenda. Then there will be a whole week's worth of the news cycle about it. Gil will announce they are looking into it to quiet it down. If we end up missing the finals, it'll just fade into the background. If we make the finals, or even by some crazy chance top 4, they'll change the rules on it again.

The academies are working when the academy clubs can't bid on them all because there are so many talented kids coming into the draft from every academy.

Imagine a draft where half of the first round are all kids from the NE Acedemies. That'd be fantastic

Then there will be a whole week's worth of the news cycle about it. Gil will announce they are looking into it to quiet it down. If we end up missing the finals, it'll just fade into the background. So as long as we stay in the bottom 4 its cool? again another ridiculous round 1 reaction we could just as easily lose our next 3-4.

I loved Errol's comments. We have kids playing for us who are growing up as Swans before they’re even teenagers. The triggered can pleased themselves, I don’t care.

Supporters of big Victorian teams especially can piss off. They scoop up any talent they can the second their first contract is up and don’t mind that non Victorian teams (NSW and QLD) can’t take advantage of that go home factor year after year.
