Interesting. I wonder over what distance this was measured. Thought J Mac could have been up there given he was an elite 400m runner.
Both JMac and Fox have that distance runner's long loping stride rather than the frenetic charge of a sprinter. The other 4 are all compact with a good burst.
Hugely surprised Blakey wasn't on that list before his injury. Reckon he might be around 36 or 37km/hr.

The AFL website analyses the 2016 draft:

Ollie Florent (pick No.11), Will Hayward (21), Jack Maibaum (45), Darcy Cameron (48)
AFL Pre-Season and Rookie Drafts: Ben Ronke, Robbie Fox, Shaun Edwards, Toby Pink, Sam Fisher (category B)

Verdict: In Florent and Hayward, Sydney should have two long-term players and both potentially could become stars of the competition, so the draft definitely gets a comfortable pass. The question is, however, could it have been better? The Swans left Jy Simpkin on the table who – at the moment – is a better midfielder than Florent. And it is at the backend of the draft – typically a strength for the Swans – where they've been let down. Maibaum was delisted in 2019, rookied, then delisted again in 2020. Cameron was handed to Collingwood after failing to make an impression. Edwards and Pink didn't work out, and while Ronke and Fox remain on the list, Fox has been delisted once and Ronke is hanging on by his fingernails after rising from obscurity in 2018 with a stunning seven-goal effort at the MCG. - Cameron Noakes

Adam Goodes (pick No.43, 1997)

Talk about bang for your buck draft picks. No one could have possibly imagined that Adam Goodes would become one of the club's most decorated and respected figures when he was snapped up with pick 43 in the 1997 NAB AFL Draft. Perhaps when Goodes won the Rising Star award in 1999, some had an inkling that the athletic big man was a special talent. Two Brownlow Medals later, the penny undoubtedly dropped. Throw in two premierships (not bad for a club with only five), and a club record for the most AFL/VFL games, this champion was clearly an inspired choice. Three-time best-and-fairest winner and current co-captain Luke Parker is a very honourable mention here, but no one will topple the great Adam Goodes. Sydney grabbed Parker with pick 40 in 2010 to add to their staggering success late in drafts, that also includes an unbelievable strike rate in the rookie drafts. - Cameron Noakes

Ryan O'Keefe at 56 was a pretty good get as well.

Don't think they are. Just adding to the "bang for buck" we've gotten from the lower end of the draft. There are others too but doubtless Goodesy is the cream.
Rampe, Cunningham and Kirk were all rookies. IMO Kirk was the best rookie pick by a country mile - in terms of bang for your buck nothing tops the Captain
