Lloyd was brutal in that
But fair points. We took advantage of their defensive mistakes and won the game because of it. On top of Amartey they let Heens wander into the forward line like he was going for a mid day walk in the park.

Mentioning the byes did not reflect well on Nicks. 10 teams had a "bye" between preseason and "Opening Round", so as a perspective, you could say Sydney had their preseason bye at round 5. Swans might as well complain that they have one less bye than the 10 other teams. It's stupid and boring to mention it - Nicks should teach his team to tie their shorts up to prevent the Crows getting pantsed again.

Adelaide played Thurs night at home. We played Sunday and then travelled to Adelaide. Will people stop yapping about the byes.

Seven other teams played opening round and have had two byes, why is it only an issue around us? I wonder if it would be such an issue if Collingwood or Melbourne were having a season like ours?

When's the afl 8 things we learned out that will ignore us and celebrate the pies?

"Adelaide showed green shoots in the first two qtrs before getting streamrolled by the Swans who keep on keeping on. It was a gallant effort by the crows who were two goals up in the middle of the second quarter before being reeled in by the impressibe swans outfit. The inclusion of Rankine gave them the spark they needed early. Adelaide's couch, Matthew Nicks, who be happy to see the intent of his charges, knows that they can match it with the best. Next week they should look to improve"

Or something similarly banal

It has to be about Armarty.

Ha ha thought that was legit at first, well done

"In life without Buddy, the Swans may have found a new Talisman. Though only gone a year, the swans have looked better without him, averaging over 100 points this season. Franklin, who came to the Harbour in 2014, scored over 486 goals with his highest tally being 10 goals. The new Talisman's name is Joel Amartey and he kicked 9.1"

The bye argument would have some merit if the other teams were being penalised in some way. But having to play a dozen or so weeks, give or take, in a row without a bye is... exactly what teams have been doing for well over the last decade???

Like sure we are well-rested, but it's not like the other teams who have only had one bye have been given this monstrously unfair schedule that's never been thrown at a club before!

nah, then it would be a matter of how well they've done with their momentum being interrupted

Maybe we need a summary of what we learned on the Swans Bigfooty Board each week

Simples:

"A tale of two halves"

In the recent weeks we have seen a dominant Sydney side running out 42,30,14 and 52 point victors over the last four rounds that they have played. However, if you look closely, you will notice a worrying trend forming. Swans have been outscored by their opponent by a collective 51 points in their four previous matches. The highest deficit across each of those games was 30 plus points against the cats midway through the second qtr. However, these slow starts are overcome with brilliant second halves with the swans blowing away the opposition scoring by a combined 133 points in the same span of game. The dominance is highlighted with 27 more scoring shots across these games (the only outler being the dogs game at -2 scoring shots). The first quarter sluggishness is a concern, but is an opportunity for John Longmire's men to improve upon and put more space on the competition"

Yeah it's a bunch of sour grapes considering that both the Giants and the Lions have struggled all year yet everyone is trying to claim it's the week off that has been the cause of our success. The critics just can't give credit to the outstanding season the Swans are having without harping on about academies and now the bye rounds. This club is extremely well run. They have recruited brilliantly and are absolutely dominating the competition. Suck it up
