Panos,Butcher,Fitzpatrick, and possibly Griffiths look likely key forwards to go in the top20.

He's got style...but can he play football?

There aren't any key forwards in the draft from what I can see
I was watching the unders 18's on tv today and here's some good picks for the blues:

Fowler(Qld) This kid really impressed me today. A well built medium sized forward that presents all day. Think he took about 14 or 15 marks and 20 od disposals. The only downfall to his game is his set shots on goal but of coarse that can improve.

Rohan(Vic Country) This kid has blistering speed and can also take a good mark and any team would be lucky to snag him.

There wasn't really any key defenders on offer today which is a bit disapointing. Don't think this years draft has the names from last year.

Interesting to hear anyone's thoughts on Sean Tighe. He didn't represent Vic Metro but has been playing really well for the Jets. KPP on both sides of the ground.

He could slide to the 3rd or 4th round IMO but would be a steal. Anyone else think Butcher had a little niggle? which will hopefully let him slide to our pick:thumbsu:

I thought Talia looked good as a tall defender and Toy looked alright as a medium defender.

Troy Taylor for NT could be a good project tall key defender or maybe forward.

There were a few boys for WA as HBF types that looked alright.

We need to offer players like Russell, Stevens, Carrazzo, Fisher, Scotland and Houlihan up for trade to try and snair some early picks, they are handy players but not required. Other clubs might overrate them. Maybe even Fevola. Not sure they will fetch much but it's worth putting it out there to other clubs.

We are going to have a chance on getting a good player with pick 1, any of the players I've named could be good. But it would be nice to get another first round pick.

If some club wanted Carrazzo, Scotland/Stevens and Fisher/Russell/Houlihan for example, for their first round pick. And we got a Talia or a Morabito that would be great.

A year too late.

Ok I will make categorys.

A
Ah Chee, Rohan, Carlisle, Butcher, Morabito, Talia, Matera, Skully.

A-
Lucas, Green, Martin, Swallow, Colyer, McAdam, Gaff, Toy.

B
Fowler, Hutchinson, Troy Taylor, Crichton (be a very good project player), Fitzpatrick.

Roughies
Hooper - Short, heavily built player but looks to be able to carry his weight well. Got a good head on him and has good skills and with an AFL pre season who knows.

Who could slip to us/a second pick:
Morabito - I haven't heard any one rate him...
Green - played for Tasmania and there for in a "weaker" team/level. Perhaps he'll get the Robinson treatment.
Colyer - Many might think he is too short, most likely Hughes will :(.
Taylor - He's pretty skinny and not a super stand out, just add Kilograms.
Crichton - see Taylor's comments.
Hooper - He's short and heavy built.

Josh Cowan from the rebels has had a very good year although quiet for VC. Has a huge engine, runs all day, does the little things that go unnoticed, also very good skills with clean hands. I'm hoping he gets invited to the draft camp.

Others from todays game that impressed me were Rohen (not sure how its spelt) he took the game on and loved his blistering pace for a big guy. Only negative is i would have liked him to handball more, he seemed to burn a few players at times.

Rohan was grat and I'd love to get him, he's what we need so badly. I recon players that don't handball much are great, because instead of handballing out of trouble or to find space they use their pace. He does that.

Doubt we'll get the option to call out his name

Our drafting priority:
Rohan, Skully, Talia, Morabito, Ah Chee, Carlisle, Lucas, Martin, any of the names I've mentioned if around.

We have a fair few holes, Stevens, Fevola and Scotland are players who need replacing and we might need a key position player although the ones we have coming along (Austin, Bower, Kreuzer, Jamison) are all pretty handy for the future. We really struggle in the center square, our midfield is very overrated and needs quite a few better players. We have Judd, Gibbs and Murphy who will all be A graders and the rest are expendable and could be replaced.

We wont get Rohan or Skully. If we get Talia that would be excellent but it probably wont happen. Carlisle could be alright for a tall but it's hard to say if he's quick enough.
Ah Chee looks like a hard working mid that could replace any one of our lazy few.
Morabito was impressive with his clearances and ability to extract the ball and could solve our clearance problems and will end up being a big body in the center.

In an ideal world I'd take Rohan, Morabito and Talia. If we had the first 3 picks that is.

There is very little doubt Morabito will go in the top5 and will not be around for us, you have left out Matthew Panos from SA who is a key forward whose ranking has improved significantly recently who is now a likely top 10 prospect and is probably the type of player who should be targetting.

gilly what are our chances of butcher sliding to our first pick becauce he had a bad day yesterday and panos seems to have moved a head of him.

Gilly, where do you think this bloke O'Keefe stands in the great scheme of things?

Don't see any Bullants games, but hear from a few that he could make it as a forward.

I've personally never seen him play up forward, in the champs and Bullants games I've seen he has predominantly played across HB with some stints through the mdifield....good size and a raking left foot his best attribute, so you would htink his best bet is bringing the ball out of defence and breaking zones with his long and accurate kicking.

He is good overhead but isn't genuine KP size, would be more a general forward, and I'd prefer him to have a bit more leg speed and athleticism to play that role.

Not a TAC Cup player any more but any thoughts on Xavier Gotch?

Dominated TAC last year and played well from what I saw in the champs. Obviously very small like his father but he is the kind of inside mid we need.

Pretty toned already after a couple of seasons in the gym and one in the VFL.
