Matty Rendell nailed it in his Trade Radio review of the Crows, where he reckons Sloaney should play almost exclusively in the forward line next year. Takes a good grab, and would drive a standard for forward half pressure.
Yes all were good points until the idea that he'd kick 40 plus goals a year. I don't mind Rendell and can be accused of being overly optimistic at times, but that call made me scoff.

Thats less than 2 goals per game. He absolutely as a small forward has that ability as he can take contested marks and will have the pressure game inside 50 + is a good set shot. I'dbe putting that to him as a key challenge next year to hit that 40 goal mark

yeah he could, but it’s unlikely. When you think about under 2 goals a game it doesn’t sound like much, but how many forwards actually kick 40+ in a year? Not many

The issue isn't getting to 1.81 goals per game. It's the staying at 1.81 goals per game over 22 games.

With the exception of Betts it's a issue all of small and medium forwards have not been able to overcome.

Tom Lynch played a decade for us as a medium full time forward, he did it once

As a tertiary marking target behind Thilthorpe and Walker 25-30 goals would be a more practical aim. Heeney, Zurhaar, McCarthy, Tippa all managed over 30.

I don't doubt we are just going to use pick 4 on best available at the draft knowing that getting pick 1 is off the table
It's quite possible. Despite what Reid said yesterday, I'm told we're working on "multiple trades"... I don't know who or what that might look like or whether it's just pick swapping...

The tigers never made us an offer. It's complete BS
Commonsense says this is true .....RICH in a mini rebuild, they want two 1st round players with #7 and #15 .....for them it's qty

That also is a reasonable assumption, given we have two players in limbo, uncontracted ......most never come off

Cooney strikes again..

my god.. in what universe is a contracted coniglio is worth pick 27 and essentially valued the same as Ladhams!!!…

this is hilarious..

Have updated that trade now because the first version was stupid by a stupid person

Port couldn’t get Cogs with their cap problems anyway

I think it's unlikely he'll play more more than 15 games next year, so it's almost 3 goals per game!

Nice work...now keep digging.

I wish I was Adam Cooney and was paid to make up the stupidest trade I can think of for shits and giggles.

I've said it before, but I suspect we may well be trying to kick the can down the road in terms of the draft.

So splitting the pick would involve a future 1st, rather then 2 this year. Just getting that feeling we may have a relatively boring off-season when it's all said and done, and next off-season might be substantially more action

IMO Cogs value would drop because he hasn't played good footy for nearly 18 months .....plus his wage for clubs to carry, would have to be off-set by asking for a 2nd round pick

That's the universe where GWS have some serious buyers remorse for their monster Cognilio contract.

I'd almost wish that problem on Port considering they're fast entering no-mans-land, and adding that contract could tear them apart.
