Question is do we want Munkara more than the kid we could have at pick 22?
the pick is ridiculously awkward.
Right around where a Davey bid may come. Probably too far ahead of where Munkara goes, so if it's active before a Davey bid we should be looking at our draft board.

List spots are tight too
If we take 4, 22, match Davey then trade in to draft/match a 40+ pick on Munkara, I think we're out of spots for Jayden. Which would mean if someone bids in the ND we lose him (or we delist Eyre...not sure if we can rookie him)

Been thinking on it of late. We probably should have left Stewart's extension until post-draft. and if he left, he left.

It's almost too late to delist anyone, but the other alternative is to trade pick 22 into next year since we won't have a list spot free to use it this time.

I do question the legitimacy of using the SSP spot for him
It's not like we don't know what he's like. he's been with us two years.

SSP should really be for players you didn't have last year.
Honestly, I'm thinking we just want to keep the list spot open for the draft and that if we don't land all of our targets (Munkara, 22) then we will just re-sign him.

makes sense then.
So if ND pans out that way, I guess it's either stops training with us, or VFL? (assuming no one else comes knocking)
Yeah I'd say so, the way I've taken it is that if all goes to plan with the draft he's likely gone, but if we don't land Munkara/trade 22 into next year we'll re-sign him.

Can Eyre go to Cat B spot?
I'm thinking Eyre's chance to get back on the list hinges on one of three things:

  • Davey being bid on before pick 22 and we only take #4, Daveyx2 and Munkara;
  • Munkara being taken before 40 and we aren't able to match; or
  • Munkara making through the ND and being able to Cat B rookie

yeah pretty much.
Im not sure if Jayden can go Cat B either if he slips through the draft. Someone is likely to know.

Eyre's chance is down to one thing... and that is whether someone gets an LTI or retires between now and the middle of March.

There's no rookie spots available that can be left open, we can't upgrade a rookie as that deadline has passed, which means there's no SSP spots.

If we don't use all of the draft picks in the national draft (such as Munkara landing on the Cat B list after going undrafted) then we'll have to use the spot in the draft night DFA period or pre-season draft in order to hit the minimum 36 players on the senior list by final list lodgement (1 December).

even via SSP?
wondering where he slides in if we take 4, 22, Alwyn, Munkara and Jayden at the ND.
If 22 gets used on Brayden George then we can take him back.
