Well, a second one.
Someone on the West Coast board made this for their list:

Would be interested to see a version of that for our list if anyone has time/interest
I nominate anybody but me to make it because I hate the term "general" forward or defender.I nominate eth-dog to make it and Bruno to angrily critique it.
so relabel the KPF and KPD columns to "tall fwd" and "tall def", and then relabel general as "small/medium". voila!I nominate anybody but me to make it because I hate the term "general" forward or defender.
You're a tall, a medium or a small.
The stewart deal is certainly the baffling one. Hasnt really been up to it at any stage. We have laverde and zerk for the immediate term. Seems a shame to lose eyre after 2 yearsJust a bizarre list management and draft strategy.
4 kpds inside 39 in 3 drafts. A total of 5 taken since 2020. Not to mention deals for BZT, Laverde and Stewart.
Another inside mid whose game is built on breaking away from stoppages, not the hard ball, in a year in which we were guaranteed 2 of the same type of player (at least 1 of whom was late first round quality).
The only good thing I can say about our 2022 drafting is that it's nice to have a group of indigenous kids on the list. Feels like it's been a long time coming.
At least Mahoney knows what he's doing...
Dont we have two picks with jayden on the LTI?Think we should go with a classy half back or strong bodied mid with the last pick, preferably mature age. Stocker would make a lot of sense to me.
You got the ages a bit out of whack.I got you fam.View attachment 1564454
You got the ages a bit out of whack.
Shiel and AMT are not 30 until next year.
But if you are basing it on what their age will be in 2023 then you might as well not have the 18 row.
Gee Dodo has done a good jobI got you fam.View attachment 1564454
You could at least attribute the players drafted under Mahoney's watch to him . Mistakes made in the 2020 draft by drafting Brand and Eyre and then having to delist them is not on him. He was at the club less than 3 days before that draft.Just a bizarre list management and draft strategy.

I do not agree with the Stewart call. Would have kept Eyre over Stewart but in drafting Hayes at least they have picked one of the better KP players in the draft who has played for Metro and has much better exposed form than Brand.
Not saying Mahoney has done anything either way . It is simply too early to say give her has just completed his second trade / fa / draft period and history says it will take you four or so to get an idea. Not ideal if the have ****ed it up but that is the nature of the beast .
What have Geelong . Richmond. Melbourne. Sydney all have in common ?
Stable board . Long term coaches . Stable club .
One minor critique, I'd have had Langford as outside and Caldwell inside rather than "balanced" but looks good!I got you fam.View attachment 1564454
Well we did address that last year with Hobbs and Voss.I thought the plan was to draft competitors. That's what he did so well at Melbourne. Where are they?

Laverde will play ahead of KellyAnyway, doing my usual thing. One list spot open, hoping that Mitch Szybkowski or Adam D'Aloia gets it:
Defence (13):
Tall (5): Nik Cox (mid/fwd), James Stewart (fwd), Brandon Zerk-Thatcher, Zachary Reid, Lewis Hayes
Medium (3): Jordan Ridley, Jayden Laverde, Jake Kelly
Small (5): Andrew McGrath (mid), Nick Hind, Mason Redman, Alastair Lord, Massimo D'Ambrosio
Midfield (15):
Inside (8): Darcy Parish, Jye Caldwell, Zachary Merrett, Ben Hobbs, Dylan Shiel, Archie Perkins (fwd), Elijah Tsatas, Will Setterfield
Outside (5): Kyle Langford (fwd), Dyson Heppell (def), Sam Durham, Nic Martin (fwd), Alwyn Davey (fwd)
Ruck (3): Sam Draper, Nick Bryan, Andrew Phillips
Forward (14):
Tall (5): Peter Wright (ruc), Harrison Jones, Kaine Baldwin, Cian McBride (def/ruc), Sam Weideman
Medium (3): Jake Stringer, Patrick Voss (mid), Anthony Munkara
Small (6): Will Snelling (mid), Matt Guelfi, Tex Wanganeen, Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti, Jye Menzie, Jayden Davey
Ideally we'd have another defender (Sam Gilbey the one I like) but I wouldn't be too fussed if it were an inside mid like D'Aloia or Szybkowski either. I'm hoping that the addition of Hayes means that either McBride or Stewart play forward.

I prefer Kelly's flexibility to play on mediums and smalls.Laverde will play ahead of Kelly
Laverde can also do that, has been given the talls mostly due to being one of the only ones who canI prefer Kelly's flexibility to play on mediums and smalls.
He hasn't at AFL level. He might be able to but he hasn't shown it.Laverde can also do that, has been given the talls mostly due to being one of the only ones who can
Well we did address that last year with Hobbs and Voss.
If you compare us to any of the final sides I don't think we match up well aerobically. My critique is we didn’t address our ability to run both ways and improve the aerobic base of our list. I’m still not convinced we have the aerobic running power in the Merrett, Parish, Shiel, Hobbs, Caldwell and now Tsatas group. Martin and Durham help, but I feel as though a Carlton-esque draft will be required from us shortly to target strong aerobic athletes.
Just my opinion.
