Fairly risky PS but i like it. You have at least minimised the risk but getting all of the 'premium' rookies who will no doubt keep getting games. I don't know about Heath Shaw, can't see him improving too much this year and his scores last year were very inconsistant so i would look elsewhere if i were you.

Firstly with your backs, both Grimes and Drummond are very injury prone and therefore too much of a risk to have both IMO. Probably best to have one or the other.

Your midfield contains 4 Collingwood players. What is your strategy in terms of negotiating the bye rounds?

Rucks look pretty solid. Do you expect Vardy to get some games this year? There are other options which are a little more expensive that are more likely to be in their teams best 22.

Forwards look a little lean. You have 5 rookie players and without seeing them play yet, most of them would seem fairly speculative in terms of getting regular games. This could be a real concern if your not only having to cover them but also your premiums as well should they have the bye.

In all i'd say you still have a bit of tinkering to do as you say but there's plenty of time yet and things will become clearer when we start to see them play NAB cup.

How much cash do you have left to play with?

I like your team, good mix with your rookies with C. Howard and C. Richardson, like the mature age rookies

Like this team a lot. Having guys like Sylvia, Grimes and Higgins could go either way given they are quite high risk.

I'm thinking a couple of strict rules will apply this year in terms of team selection, mainly:

- AT MOST 2 players from any one team in any position, and a max of 4 players from one team overall. Otherwise you are putting yourself in a very poor position for the two bye weeks.
- If you are playing for purely league honours, players from Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Fremantle are at a premium as they have both byes in weeks where there are 3 bye teams and therefore no league games. However, going for overall you should be careful as you may end up with zeroes if you go down this path.
- MPP rookies will be very important given that you will want as many rookies playing as possible; this means Krakouer, Mzungu, Jacobs, Hibberd etc are virtually locks if they play round 1.

Thinking along these lines, my team is as follows.

Backs: Goddard (MPP), Gibbs (MPP), Deledio (MPP), Broughton, Grimes/Bock, Otten, Coad (Hibberd MPP, Duigan, Faulks)
Mids: Swan, Hodge, Pendlebury, Foley, Swallow, Gaff (Mzungu MPP, Christensen, Heppell MPP)
Fwds: Riewoldt, Franklin, Rioli, O'Keefe (MPP), Knights, Petrie (MPP), Krakouer (Richardson, Tapscott, Phillips)
Rucks: Sandilands, Fraser (Z.Smith, J.Tippett MPP)

Of your 13 premiums, 11 of them are the same as mine so that's cool. However I would consider downsizing Murphy for another quality $200k player which would give you a bit more meat for your B6 & F6 players. I don't think its wise with the byes to be having 2 starting rookies in both the backs and forwards. Just needs a little tinkering with the structure plus the rookies will come once the NAB Cup starts.

If you want to comment on mine it's in the fanplanner. Nice work.

Very different team, Dont mind the backline, althought you dont have Deledio and Gibbs, obviously going something different. You have good depth on the bench and a couple of players in shaw and ellis who could well improve on there average.

Mids, A little different with Kennedy and Howlett, Personally i wouldnt take Howlett as there are way better options out there imo. I like your bench tho, probably would put D Swallow in for Howlett and upgrade a forward

Rucks Sandi and Clark not a bad combo. Dont see the need to have Petrie on the bench put him in the forwards or have Smith and Bailey emergencys i reckon. Waste of cash here.

Forwards, Not a fan of your forward line at all sorry, too many mid range and too many injury risks, JB, Chappy, Petterd, Gray. I would upgrade one or two of these players. Not sure its worth wasting money on having Miller on the bench. Heaps of good forward options who will score just as well i reckon.

6.5 out of 10. Way too many mid range players for my liking, leads to average scores.

Very solid backline. Heppell and Watson are both virtually guaranteed games so you are pretty safe starting them, bench looks good to.

Mids are a little too strong imo, i recon you should downgrade Murphy to a rookie and upgrade 2 of your forward rookies to mid pricers or 1 of them to a premium.

Rucks, very risky starting Petrie on the ground as he may not score that well playing FF and is injury prone, i recon Fraser is a much better option for around the same price. If you are really keen on petrie i would pick him in the fwd line. Good bench.

Forwards are fairly weak. 2 guns in chappy and roo. Cyril i like, Waite is a bit of a punt but well worth it. i think 3 rookies starting on the ground is too many, i think you should consider moving petrie to the forwards, picking up another premium or pick up one of the many mid priced options (Knights + Petterd look good)

Thoughts? Thinking about Tippett into forward line so I have a swap with Petrie in the ruck if need be.

Your rucks look weak (Hale and Fraser I wouldn't be too sure on either just yet) and you don't seem to be taking much advantage of the MPP rule. For example, having Krakouer in the midfield will allow you to move him and Chapman around to cover byes and injuries. Same could be said with Petrie and not having someone in the ruck to swap with him.
