Yes it's racist to call a white rapper crap. Considering they're imitating an 'art form' developed by black artists and don't do it as well. I can do a dot painting, but it's not a patch on the real thing.
You honestly don't know what you're posting about do you?

If you're suggesting that these guys developed rap or hip hop, you're about 20/30 years too late. Whilst the Beastie Boys were one of an early adopters of the style, they were far from pioneers.
Plenty of available material that will refer you to artists such as The Last Poets or even Isaac Hayes as early exponents.

Australian Rappers being the most cringeworthy of the lot
I don't know if you work in the city or not. Recently a skinny white guy has started busking in the mall as a rapper, to what I assume is his original work...he's absolutely terrible.

I also assume the pocket change he makes will go toward a belt for his saggy pants.

The quality of buskers in Adelaide has gone down hill a bit, There is that hairy hippie dude that plays a mean harp occasionally.

But what about the bloke in the red and white stripe jacket that sings love songs? That's quality!! And the really fat dude who plays the Casio keyboard with one finger. :thumbsu: Bring back Johnny Haysman, better than any busker, and world leading fashion sense. Bad taste in footy clubs, but an icon nevertheless.

The fat guy with the Casio keyboard, that's actually a bit sad. He died alone and homeless in the streets not long ago.

The guy in the striped shirt and straw hat? Kiddy fiddler, caught and convicted.

At present in the mall we regularly have:

A bearded black dude who plays a bongo with a gypsy who plays a violin badly while dancing around. They play the same thing all the time. Really annoying.

A pommy magician with 1 lame trick.

A small girl with a violin, she's learning but not that bad.

A guy who wheels in a piano, he's quite good.

A very old chinese man who plays a traditional chinese instrument.

Two small asian kids who perform circus acrobatics.

You forgot the bikie that plays the flute.

I sometimes see the dude with those pipes who normally plays down Hindley come up Rundle a bit now as well. Essentially on Rundle Mall there's also the same guy who plays Violin outside of oxfam, almost every time I've been there he's been playing. Most annoying is definitely the magician though.

Not suggesting that at all, just disagreeing with you posting caucasian rappers aren't as good as their counterparts.

I reckon I saw him outside the train station after my xmas work show. We were staying in the Stamford Plaza and I was drunk, trolling him from our open room window.

Mrs Amstaff wasn't impressed though and neither was he :$

Black guys are better Blues musicians in the main than white boys too it's just a fact.. deal with it

*Oh and Clapton was & always will be Hendrix Lite

Agreed totally. Doesn't get much better than John Lee Hooker and BB King and the rarely mentioned Ted Hawkins. Although Stevie Ray Vaughan goes alright.
As for Clapton, I think you'd find he agreed with you on Hendrix.

If you're looking for new music, give Roger Daltrey and Wilko's new collaboration a go. Very pure old school R&B and Daltrey's vocals are amazing for this music, even at his age. Plenty of Youtube clips available.

It's as simple as saying the originators of a style of music are always the masters of it nothing to do with skin colour, I am a half-assed musician myself so i dig way back for blues in particular, my fav era for blues is easily 1920s/30s american depression era stuff it's the foundation of everything that came later in blues & rock really.

*But I think CW Stoneking goes alright & he's a aussie white boy rural bluesman lol

That's always been a intriguing debate, a lot of your traditional guitarist thought Hendrix was a hack that needed FX to sound good.
Anyway he's a legend so I'd have disagree on that one, but each to
their own.
There are many great mucians black and white in all types of genres of music and both equal when it comes to ability IMO.
It's the old Benny Goodman v Luois Armstrong conundrum.

Name them... pfft what a fuzz pedal, a wah and univibe? a lot of his sound was pushing his amps at sheer volume, these days you have guys with a million effects.

I'm yet to hear a better Rhythm player in rock in particular.
