It's embarrassing that this is even still an issue this late in the season.

I doubt Hawthorn or Sydney would be losing any sleep if they had to make a decision on a coach with the record of Bucks.

And yet here we all are waiting for Emperor Ed to make his decision when there is only one to be made if based on results.

Man, when exactly did this football club start meekly accepting mediocrity season after season?
Delighted to see the term "Emperor Ed" being used!

Conveniently forgotten by the believers.

I'm sure there was a different excuse back then. And there will be more excuses in the future from them when he inevitably fails if he undeservingly gets reappointed again.
No one was blaming injuries for earlier this year, almost all the injury comments referred to the years before ie swans 2016, Elliott missing year and a half, references to the many ACL injuries we had, Scharenburgs missed years etc etc. Most comments are for previous years.
We are all possibly guilty of maybe skewing facts to suit our argument, and you certainly are

That's it in a nutshell.

I'd respect other view points more if it is stated in measured tones, but we're all different.

The other thing which is where you know it's more about the affect is the while 6 year thing, because it sounds worse.

The finals were made the first two years but anyway.

Far more stronger though to say the last four years the rebuilding hasn't worked etc.

But 6 sounds worse than 4.

So by extension Nathan coached better his first two years?

No they will say, he had this incredible list, that's why.

That's a bingo!

He had the players.

Who would have thunk it, players make a difference......

Get players that are elite, A grade, develop to higher levels sides go up the food chain.

Simples
Nathan didn't alter the game plan in the first two years don't forget

Was driving into work and listening to Caro's words of wisdom. She expects Bucks to stay.

Why would she want things to change at the pies? No one does as we are where everyone wants us, down the bottom. The only two I can think if off the top of my head who want bucks gone are kingy and Lloyd

I'm quoting this because this is pure truth and not delusional garbage dished up by many followers of the Nathan Buckley Football Club…

I like king Eddie as well

Edited a bit.. :)
An Emperor is the highest power in the region he occupies and for most practical purposes they were in a world of their own and have often seen themselves as the rulers of the world. Kings are not necessarily the biggest powers and they often pay tributes to other powers [emperors, pope or other kings].

Why do you feel the need to categorise people in this way? It's actually possible to be in two minds on this issue.

I think most "believers" are actually in 2 minds.

Acutely aware of the team's decline on the ladder, but not 100% sure that a single change in personnel (senior coach) is the solution required to initiate an upwards trajectory.

They wouldn't assess Bucks in a "black and white" manner but rather as an individual with strengths and weaknesses.

I'm not sure the team is as badly positioned as we make out, but can identify many opportunities to improve our lot.

What resonates with me from the "non-believer" camp is their view that we might be accepting mediocrity because the head coach is a favorite son.

I'm questioning my own judgement these days. :)

Either the coach gets the praise or the coach gets the brick bats.....

Gets the lot plus the salary.

That's the deal.

Is a coach good or bad? At the end, the better players you gave the more chance you'll be considered a good coach.

Horrible job. Always being criticised, always coppping abuse (even by your own supporters) basically people generally never happy (except the moments after winning a flag).

All the team boards are similar.

But anyway it's been a fascinating ride.

But to me, we don't have the list at a stage yet where we can really challenge.

The main guy that sits in the box is the great creation of sport, the focus.

But he plays a role, it's important, but with our lot today ain't nobody but nobody going to name us challenge for the big prizes of football.

Unable to separate from a previously-loved club legend, despite the club worsening year on year under his watch. All while anybody with an objective view can see the total insanity of it all.
You do realise it's only an objective view if you hold that view.

If you don't, it becomes a subjective view.

Humans, me included, all tend to parrot their opinions as if it is some noble objective view point fully uncompromised. But humans don't really do that.
We form opinions, then we promote them with noble intent.

But they're still as subjective as the next opinion, with all the built in biases of our experiences and judgments.

(Except mine :D that's purely objective :D)

Why is what you say anymore the truth than what some one else says if it's a different view point.

Why not articulate a point without the slagging off at people. Not sure how that makes your point any more valid.

Why can't people have different opinions?

Why do people have to be pegged as some cult follower?

Sounds very condescending, not sure how it makes your point any more valid.

I think we get where you stand.
That's your opinion, you want a new coach. Fair enough.

But why insult a differening view point?

Just wondering that's all.

When was that? Frankly, I couldn't care less if others outside the club respected us or not
Well that's ok then if you couldn't care less than the rest of us can breathe easy and shouldn't give a s*** either. Actually I do that's why I follow Collingwood instead of the unsuccessful like saints, dogs, freo etc. - we don't accept extended terms of mediocrity at Collingwood, if you do then you are not a passionate Collingwood supporter. So do you give a s***?

If we offer Buckley a new deal I will be the most flat I have ever been about Collingwood in my time watching them. We are not going to see any success with him as coach and it will be very hard to watch. Footy just feels incredibly unexciting as a Collingwood supporter right now, which is why crowds are down.

We need a fresh start and he needs to go.

That's what four years of no finals will do. The sad reality is that we are no closer to making the finals next year as we were at the end of 2014. On this basis alone Bucks must be replaced. Hopefully logic will prevail over sentiment
