"Some extreme exaggeration going on here." Hardly! I just stated exactly what happened - 6 goals in one quarter and 3 goals thereafter for the rest of the match and I questioned how this could happen?

As for "catastrophising" everything, I think that's a touch dramatic. Mind you, you could liken the last 6 years under McGuire/Pert/Buckley/The Board as mirroring that of a dramatic Greek tragedy.

Maybe a better reflection of the last 6 years can be found in the poignant words of wordsmith Paul Keating to John Hewson - " I want to do you slowly".

Dont bring Keating into this.

Anybody else thought it was a bit odd how Buckley went so hard at Brad Hardy over the Ross Lyon rumour?

It's none of his business whether somebody else might be going after his job or not. And it's not his place to defend the club on that issue.

Reminds me of the time I defended the existence of Santa Claus in the school playground. I won that debate but felt like a right goose when I found out later that I was wrong. (Sorry kids, there is no Santa Claus). Age 5 I learnt to never make the mistake of defending something I had no idea about. Buckley obviously still believes in Santa Claus

He should have simply said "I've got no idea and it's not something that is of any concern to me."

Sco, If, after the submission of the Reviews to the Board is to reappoint Bucks. Then so be it. However, the outcomes of the Reviews (as they were following at Geelong following their review at the end of 2006) need to be transparent and acted upon.

The process of and the outcome of the Review was brutal for Bomber in many ways and he acknowledged that he was close to throwing it in as he was happy with some of the issues that were raised that he disagreed with, but without the review happening, Bomber would not have reflected on and changed accordingly (and there would not have been the dynasty from 2007-2011), removed some of his roles that were non-coaching related or empowered his assistants with more buy-in and responsibility.

My concern is whether Buck's has the ability to change. Harry Lumumba raised a valid point about Bucks lack of emotional intelligence, but it has been largely ignored as sour grapes. However, several ex-players and assistant coaches have also raised this, as did Bucks in his autobiography. In six years under him we have not progressed and still do not have a sustainable game plan. Here's hoping....for something

I raised this issue a while ago.. the emotional intelligence of a coach. People seem to have taken offence to it. Seems as though a lot of my posts make sense to others mths and yrs down the track.

Respect!

Pro Buckley supporters are entitled to their own opinions of course.. but I tell you now.. I've never been so certain of anything in my life.. this bloke can not coach.

Buckley's game plan I liken it to him walking in quicksand.. pro Buckley supporters are in awe of Buckley.. they're blind to the quicksand.

My excuse, love that one. The board not us appoints the coach last time l check. Right or wrong that's how it goes. Me not worth adding any more to this nonsense.

Why is what you say anymore the truth than what some one else says if it's a different view point.

Why not articulate a point without the slagging off at people. Not sure how that makes your point any more valid.

Why can't people have different opinions?

Why do people have to be pegged as some cult follower?

Sounds very condescending, not sure how it makes your point any more valid.

I think we get where you stand.
That's your opinion, you want a new coach. Fair enough.

But why insult a differening view point?

Just wondering that's all.

I can respect opinions that differ to mine- however there's also the cold hard reality of actually calling a spade a spade.
BEEG nailed it- as much as the truth may hurt he nailed it.

There's no need to articulate something that is pretty black and white and it's quite obvious those in favour of Buckley offer up nothing but excuses to defend his tenure purely out "love" for him.

Which is why, I repeat this is the Collingwood Football Club- not the Nathan Buckley Football Club.

Wh
Mate I don't want to fall in the trap of accepting 1 premiership every 30 yrs.

As I was saying.. enjoy your scons and tea.

Whatever dude.. go and conjure up some more excuses for the Messiah.
Your a funny guy, good luck with the nonsense when he is signed up again.
If you take the time and read properly you will know that l believe that he is far from the messiah, but carry on with it all.

This is the first internet thing I have ever joined. It was because I now live in a remote corner of Oz where no one speaks or converses about the pies like when I lived in Melbourne. But FMD I can't believe how many tools are on here bagging out the club and everything associated with it under the premise they are experts and shooting down anyone with a positive spin on the club and current regime. You blokes can go and GF!

Sorry If I offended anyone, talk to you next week.......w***ers

Well said Pete!

Anyone else fear the fix is on with these reviews?

I should say review because only Walsh will be looking at the football department and I hardly feel he's an independent voice when forming a view on Buckley and his coaching.

Murphy wouldn't be qualified to do it either given his background isn't in football administration but couldn't we have appointed someone from outside the club who does like Dunstall for example?

I'm concerned that just like the AFL appointed tribunal ultimately found Essendon not guilty the best way to produce the ace up your sleeve, to achieve the outcome you desire, is to stack the deck from the start.

Sound familiar, 2015,16,17 - you want 18 & 19 as well? How long do you want mediocrity?
In essence this is the whole problem been promised on potential. Delivery has to come. At the end of the day the potential or promise has to amount to some form of progress. I think the announcement for after the season is the dignified one for Buckley.
The whole game style is horrid to watch and crowd numbers have reflected this. If they want members numbers to increase in 2018 something has major has to change. The excuses and patience have worn out. Announcing to extend him seems illogical to do once the season is over.

This poses as the hardest decision the board has had to make but take out the emotion and the numbers don't lie. The board is there to make the hard calls for the best direction of our once great club. Do we stand for constant mediocrity ?

I remember when GF spelled grand final at our club. How far we have fallen.

“A rule of government is never look into anything you don’t have to and never start an inquiry unless you know what its findings will be.”

You're only just coming around to this...?

Think i'd prefer someone with experience in the private sector doing our administrative review rather than someone with experience in kicking goals and eating pizza fwiw.
