This is the first internet thing I have ever joined. It was because I now live in a remote corner of Oz where no one speaks or converses about the pies like when I lived in Melbourne. But FMD I can't believe how many tools are on here bagging out the club and everything associated with it under the premise they are experts and shooting down anyone with a positive spin on the club and current regime. You blokes can go and GF!

Sorry If I offended anyone, talk to you next week.......******s
Are you sure you weren't physically moved to a remote corner of Oz.....

Could it be that Ed has been working behind the scenes to land Bucks a job with the AFL possibly as football manager?

I found it somewhat interesting that after Buckley raised concerns about the media supposedly making stories up and questioning whether accreditation could be stripped the AFL CEO pretty much parroted his comments within days.

Could Collingwood contribute to his salary as AFL football manager like they do when players get traded to other clubs?

Saintly/Westozpie and Others.....

I think you guys will get your wish - a Buckley contract extension (with additional bells and whistles attached to sell it). As I said earlier, it will be Edward's finest work and I far one, can't wait.

Just one question - what drives you more regarding the likely extension?

(i) Having Buckley stay on as senior coach.
(ii) Taking great delight at all those supporters out there that will go absolutely nuts when he is extended.

I love bucks but it's time to go, the club should take a punt on one of these the up and coming assistants

Surely it couldnt be any worse than the dross that we witness on the field each week, someone new with some different idea's and processes

I just cant remember being this jaded about the club for such a long time, I want to be excited about the club again and be excited to watch them play and if we keep Bucks on, I cant see things changing much

Warning. This post is not an excuse post, I think Bucks needs to go but need to call a spade a spade.

No Pendles
No Wells
No Varcoe
No JDG
No Grundy
No Greenwood
No Faz
No Goldsack

All things considered it wasn't a bad effort against a team sitting 3rd on the ladder.

How would you describe the effort against Carlton with most of our players in? Another one decided on Buckley's white board or should I say.. shit board.

The bloke clearly has got no clue.

This is my concern as well.
We talk about "we need this player, we need that player, we need kpp's" etc, my concern is how much of a difference is it really going to make with the game plan we have.
At the start of the year we had a very healthy injury list and most of our best 22 out there, yet still failed to play exciting football.
If Bucks does get an extension, and I believe he will, it is just going to be more of the same.

Read the first sentence Gimp, I said I believe he should go, I'm not making excuses for him.
But let's be a bit objective in our assessment and leave emotion aside for a moment. Considering the amount of outs we had and the quality of a lot of those outs the team did well to be competitive against a top 4 side.
I re-iterate Gimp, I am not making excuses for Bucks, just calling it as I see it.

Silly post, sorry.

Would have been funnier if you actually said, Kim Ed and Kim ed's son
Saintly, without looking it up... can you tell me which team has the most finals games? Not just GF's, all finals.

Collingwood has played the most finals by about 40 more than the next best.

Carlton would be next best just ahead of Essendon.

To my memory only us and our big enemy clubs (above) have played 100 + finals.

ps Hawthorn have not played even 90 finals, somewhere in the 80s, and they are not adding any this year :)

I know you're not. I know you well enough to value your posts.. I know what you mean.. we did have quite a few out.

And say we did scrape into the 8 next yr under him.. under another coach we'd do that at the min and more.. far too many games have been lost that are directly attributable to the Buckley regime.

Yep.
We need to prepare ourselves Gimp. Watching his presser on the weekend he seemed very comfortable to me. Just me speculating of course but I reckon he has privately been given the nod.
A few more years of frustration ahead.

THe question is does he look comfortable or resigned to his fate? I suspect it's the latter
