I think it's worth waiting to see what happens.

Ed hasn't even met yet to hear what his boys have to say.

Yeah, it looks like there are elements in the media who have been backgrounded that he's staying, but there are potentially all kinds of reasons for that (keep the players on board for the remaining games? Encourage players to sign? Dunno)

You may be right, he may end up being offered that two year extension AND he may choose to accept it. But I reckon it's worth holding fire until we know that is fact.

If Buckley somehow magically evades the sack and gains a contract extension why on earth would it be for 2 years?

Surely to God if the rot isn't stopped now it must next season if we miss finals again.

A 1 year contract with a trigger clause of another should we make the top 8 (to be made public at signing) will save us a payout if it doesn't happen.

It would have been nice to give Buckley an extention again based on JLT form.. if they're was ever anything that reaked of Ed that was it.. signing his idol on the back of a great awe inspiring JLT form.

16 yrs a member.. see ya later!

At least you will save a couple of guerrillas.

One thing though, at this stage of the season with an uncontracted coach surely no news is good news, if they were going to extend his reign of terror the draw against the Crows was the time to do it, here's hoping anyway.

Reptilians shapeshifters have taken over Collingwood Football Club.. there's no other reasonable explanation.

I think this is the way to go. Two years with a hidden clause that if we stagnate he moves on after 12 months.

Names that seem to keep popping up in forums:
Dew
Caracella
Ratten
Loyd
Kingsley
Bassett
And a couple of others.

There is one job available at the moment- Gold Coast- and may not appeal to many on that list (Ratten prob most, but Barker seems favourite).

At the end of next year a few more options may be in consideration:
Alan Richardson (ends 2018)
Clarkson
Longmire may hand over to Dew

Potential clubs to be looking for new coaches for 2019:
St Kilda
Freo
West Coast
Collingwood*

Add to your list North Melbourne.

That's what I reckon. They had a period of about 3-4 weeks where if they wanted to do something they would have done so.

I think they are waiting for the season to finish and Bucks will "resign".

Guerrillas - "a member of a small independent group taking part in irregular fighting, typically against larger regular forces."

Seems accurate to me.
Well played.
I've always associated him with the hairy backed type.

Nathan making sure we wont be adding any while he is coach
He's coached finals already.

What the future holds, who can tell?
The players if good enough.... will deliver.

16 consecutive years a member has officially come to an end.
Are we going to extend it to here?

No point doing it half baked.

Make a clean breast of it.

More time for the deli section

an inanimate carbon rod could have coached those sides to finals
Ahhh so it was the players - fancy that.
Here I've been saying forever, it's the coach. Silly me.

I will correct that view, pronto.
