There’s 30 names including academy and FS picks and whilst some of those players aren’t on our radar it’s not an exhaustive list

We can’t control what either Richmond or the Bulldogs do whether they use or trade their picks. Richmond are said to be entertaining offers but for later picks in this draft as opposed to future picks - so they’re likely to be looking at offers from maybe St Kilda (32,51), Essendon (37,39) or Port (33,38). They’d also be a good chance to take Dodson as their ruck stocks are pretty thin behind Nankervis

Bulldogs more likely to use 29 then look at offers for 31 which they also hold

Looking at that list, another pick in the 30 to 44 range would be nice - use 3 picks plus Malakai and maybe a late draft or rookie pick which would leave one spot for a train on option

The decision to take Shanahan if he’s still there at 30 or trading that pick if someone puts a F1 on the table is going to be difficult

Mentioning still a player left in out top 15 .....Shanahan at a calculated guess as we were to take him at #12 .
It's a guess from there do we swap picks for Richmond's pick 28 or Bulldogs 29 , I dont think so wait and see .
It's not the message i'm confused by, it's the two account names and when they were created

Clarke actually cooked which is hilarious after reading all the melts here.
I love what’s been done so far. Hoping for a great day two - so much talent on for this pick 30 and got a bonus pick to play now which is handy.
Exacto Mundo! Hundreds of pages of melts and teeth gnashing and still they carry on with 'pick 3-itis', the players are doomed, the team is doomed, there is no joy anywhere, burn my membership, sack the recruiters, wail and flail...it is indeed a strange self affliction?
Everything looks bright and sunny to me. There's a lot of new energy and positivity at the club. Everyone looks happy and excited at training. It turns out the recruiters knew what they were doing after all, in sync with the new coach, they're picking players to suit his game plan and things are coming together...as though it was all planned, imagine that?

Have fun everyone. 10.30 meeting on my last day of work ever.

Someone in the thread earlier is quite smart btw. Let's just leave it at that.

Yes there are potential offers on our next pick but all that depends on how much people offer Richmond and the Dogs and whether or not those two clubs take up an offer.

There's still a top 15 player on our board in play so i'm not sure even a future first would get it done unless it's from a lower ranked club.

Good day!

Stay safe Phil, sell every pick for futures and we'll see you back here when its over.

So? They don't have any AFL level key position talent besides Balta prior to this draft (Lynch is cooked, Nank has another year or two max). They need to load up. They also need a ruck.

Given the time it takes for them to develop into AFL players, you're better off taking a few and hoping you hit on a couple of them. Gives you margin for error.
That would be negligent of them to take 3 key forwards in one draft.

The best ruck in the draft is on the board, and you said it yourself they need ruck.

They'd want to cough up 37 39 and 43 if they want it. Time to get payed. Vozzo owes us a quid pro quo for the last few years of drafting.

I'd prefer keep 30 and trade Hawks F2 for lions 46 47 49

I think 30 and Hawks F2 for their F1, 37 and 39.

What time does it start again today?

I heard Mick Ablett say on SEN this morning that it starts at 6.00 tonight, so 3.00 our time

Not sure if that’s right but I assume he’d know

Good day!
Please do not let Clarke be interviewed prior to close of draft.

Next - hold the line. We either take Shanahan with 30 or we do the following with the Bombers

Bombers
In - Shanahan plus their choice of Eagles F2 or both Hawks F2 and F3 plus pick 68
Out - their choice of Demons or Bombers F1 plus 37 and 39

That would leave them with Kako, Shanahan, 43, 60 and 68
Why would they do it? IMHO, Shanahan is worthy a mid teens pick.

"Besides, you pancake eating mother flocker, you get the great offensive player you really wanted in Bo Callahan Jobe Shanahan and stop those barbarians at the gates of BigFooty from knocking down the door. Work with me on this one Matt Rosa. Each year, someone comes away from the draft looking like a donkey so don't let it be you".

Some people have lost their minds.

If you guys have to somehow find ways to square it up to pretend to yourselves that all is swell, you guys be you. But I know deep down you have that nagging feeling at the bottom of your soul that, a shit sandwich is indeed, a shit sandwich.

The 45 freebie was a good get. Obviously Port thought someone else was making an offer for that pick.

Talk of trading next year's picks for 28 is batshit insane. If someone else gets a trade in and takes Shanahan, let them. Next year's Hawks F1 should not be on the table. And this talk of getting Moraes, too. Who tf are you people who think you build lists with 2nd rounders? He's a 1 out of 5 chance of being a top 15 player, and a 1 out of 20 of being an A-grader. Every year, some of you guys fall for the same BS. There was a Moraes, last year, the year before that, next year, the year after. Every year there are these players you guys fall in love with and forget there are more of them. Lots more. There's not that many Jagga Smiths and Sid Drapers, though.

Also notice how well Richmond hid Hotton? An ok risk considering their hand, but you can guarantee if Twomey was saying Tigers were hot on Hotton (rather than Allan), there would have been more interest. All the talk of Allan going before our pick was hot air created by Richmond. All of a sudden, we're "Baroogah! We got Bro".

Bro might turn out to be a Dawson or Yeo. But he might turn out to be that guy who gets the footy, but doesn't use it well (this is so many players). That's the difference between Smith and Allan. The chances are that Smith makes it as a Brent Harvey type mid, that every time he gets the ball, you know he's going to use it well. Bro is odds on to be that guy who is pretty good, but just doesn't have that ultimate class. We all know that it's that top end that wins and loses flags.

If Shanahan is there. take him. If someone offers stupids for him, let them, Don't get dragged into coughing up Hawlks F1. Take what we have. Cut the losses. And hope that Allan turns into a Dawson or Yeo, or even Redden type. Take our F1 and Hawks F1 into the draft next year, and only give up one of them for Warner. Maybe even use an F1 instead.

Also: Reid quelled rumours and said he was willing to go anywhere. Body language said different. Massive fllight risk.
I disagree with you on hotton .

Richmond reached IMO . Why ?

Because we had interest in him and he wouldn't last until Richmond's pick 18 .

They made the choice of hotton over Bo Allen.

If we weren't interested they would have taken Allen at 11/12 and g
Hotton later

Baker was at Tigers with a similarly broken list to ours. What difference did he make? Do you think Harley wouldn't see the potential of he and Smith in the midfield?

It’s safe to assume that Baker was already gone , the leaving talk from the start of the year and a visit to MRP during the bye likely dropped off his focus a few % ..

Quite a few clubs, including ours, ballsed up this draft. Those usual peasants North and Essendon, and us. I think Hawks is touch and go. Could easily end up and catastrophe.
Was this post written while you are waiting for your colonoscopy?

How does this matter? He was solid as usual last year. And no one saying we couldn't use that, but it made no difference at Tigers. Will probably make an impression on our younger players for the long term, but it's unlikely to be the magic wand some people say it will be.

I think last night and what is still available took most if not all on here by surprise.
How wrong were some of the "experts"
Thank you Richmond and GWS for your remarkable drafting to make sure there was still plenty of talent around for us to pick from.
Getting 45 back for moving one place back just so we could scoop up Allen right in front of Freo was a masterstroke.

So now the big choice with our next pick, best available or another mid?
If Shanahan is still there, which is likely, it would be hard to say no. With how many names are still on the board and different clubs varying needs there will still be some quality mids available with the 45 bonus.

Such a WTF first round of drafting and pick swaps really and so many names still on the board that you would expect any other year to go first round.

Almost makes you think the powers that be at the club knew things we didn't 😁
