You may disagree but the fact that there was 11 games there last year with a total attendance of 373,038 for an average of 33,913 per game in a ground that holds 34,074 tells me otherwise.
abet , that 34 figure was the Freo final , but week in week out it would be close to 10-15% less than that. And thats probably representative of most Vic grounds. Rarely are they at capacity. Im not sure we have had another game with 30,000 in the ground for decades.

Dont sweet , if I had a dollar.... etc.
Not really sure what the debate was between you and CE. Whats interesting is we lost ground last year by having one game less at KP. I wonder what the attendance figures were the previous year , not including the final?
The fact is the attendance number s are not directly linked to profit. We make a lot more , from a lot less at KP.

Simonds....If was the sponsor Id give it up , they don't get value. Even players still occasionally slip into that previous nom de plume.
Ya know, that's twice I've slipped up on that that you've picked up. :$

I reckon part of the problem is the fact they both begin with the same letter.

If it had been re-badged as Ford Stadium or NIB Stadium people would remember it more easily.

That's my excuse anyway.

Yes thought the same. Maybe Simonds Arena or Simonds Homes Stadium.

At least its back to 8 this year but 5 of those 8 are interstate sides which doesn't help with more bums on seats

Would we make more money from a packed out simonds stadium home game or a packed out etihad stadium home game?
Pretty sure we make more from a 3/4 full KP than a full Etihad...

Wouldn't be surprsied to see the numbers up this year at home if Clark and Cocky are up and about - they seem to have genuine 'star power' aura that will make our forward line something to witness first hand.
Geez we have been spoilt particularly at home the least few years. You would hope the crowd was coming for that without needing something extra to draw them in

I also think that with more afternoon matches this season (6 of the 8 games will be played at either 1.10pm, 1.45pm or 3.20pm will also see a bump in crowd figures) - don't get me wrong the night games at Simonds are awesome but to have 6/7 games last year played at night would have made it lot harder for Melbourne and country based supporters to attend those games

So, what, about 9,000 on average unsold + no-shows.

It would be interesting to know the proportions.
9000 out of, what, 35,000. 7,000 reserve seat members would give you Cook's 20%.

Seems a lot of reserve seats being left unoccupied per game when you'd think people buy a seat because they plan on attending more often than not.

I don't have a reserve seat at the Cattery but does reserving a seat give you first dibs on one the following year?

Ah, I missed the 20%. Thanks.

It does seem high. I wonder how it compares with other clubs.

And yes, you do get first dibs on your seat the following year.

yeah, friday night kp games, much like jihad/mcg games for geelong residents, are pains in the dupa for city workers/outer surburban residents.

sunday 4.40 games much the same.
You forgot about Thursday 7:10.

The last game I attended I reckon half the crowd were suffering some degree of dementia, you may possibly find a good proportion of the 7000 wandering the streets looking for the ground or just trying to remember where they were going.

You guys want a resale option but want a 40,000 seat stadium?
I'm confused

Supply and demand
Build brand, build demand.
