Nah maybe I'm with Rucci here, lets bring in a 1 game father son rule...

Then we go and Rookie draft a handful of 40/50-year-old guys who have never played the game at a high level (but sons are some of the best under 16 players in the country.

Give them a game on the bench.

End of the year we delist the fathers and pick up the sons.

Thanks Rucci.

Just goes to show how dumb Rucci is...

Agree. But Rucci will be going out of his way to ensure the Crows doesn't get first dibs on this kid. Even if it means the kids head across the border.
I just wonder if Daisy agrees with Rucci on this. does he want his Kid to play at Port yes he does, but failing that can grantee that Darryl and Jenny would settle for the Crows a Locally based club Hense the reason a 15-year-old kid and his Parents have signed the paperwork required by the AFL before the Crows listed him in there Academy.

Maybe Port should look at doing a deal for Draft picks.
Is this a fact, did he and his parents actually sign up for our academy?

Wow... wonder if Rucci is gonna whinge about Borlase daily in the hope the AFL changes it’s decision... Port have been trying to overturn it since July last year Rucci, as if they are gonna start listening cause your having a whinge you ****wit..

His latest offering as of 12 o’clock today in the tiser;

http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport...t/news-story/06c74a45fc43e48977ad3301eebe0040

Rucci... is now, in light of the Borlase case, calling for the F/S rules to be changed..

“If there is to be true romance in football, every son should have access to his father’s locker in the AFL ... regardless how many games are on his father’s resume.”.... says Rucci
He can access his Dad's locker by playing sanfl for the Port magpies, but he probably wants to aim higher...

I love the fact that we have found a loophole to sign this apparently highly rated kid.

It reminds me of when we signed Tex to NSW Development Scholarship Program which was aimed at developing NSW kids that come from non football stronghold but we exploited that and signed our first kid from AFL mad Broken Hill! :D

And pretty much hid Tex from other teams as well, from memory.

Incidentally, I'm fairly sure there is even another aspect to that rule they came up with where the 200 games had to occur between 1970 and 1990, or something stupid like that, which ended up costing us another player.
The other issue is Ross Gibbs fell 3 games short, and Rooch told the AFL that. The irony is Rooch complained that Escort Cup games should count for Borlase yet argued they shouldnt for Ross.

The 2nd part to the Ross Gibbs saga is he fell short 3 games in the time but continued to play after the cut-off period. There could have been a strong argument he fulfilled the games played , just not in the time period nominated.

Also Rooch should understand Borlase is our International Academy player and not a F/S ;)

I thought Tex and his mum sent the club a video of his highlights and basically begged the club to be taken as part of that program.

What I'm sure the parents would want is their 15 year old kid not to be in the news at all and just be allowed to play

Rooch going full spanner here
Yes exactly what would be funny and I don't want this to happen because I hope the kids a star.
But imagine if Rucci and the club get the rules reversed so the games are counted.
He then no longer looks as good anymore and doesn't get picked up for any clubs.
Then someone pops up for the Crows father son that already wouldn't have due to the rule change.
And Rucci cries again.

I think you are wishing for too much. I think that the efforts to deny us Gibbs, who we now have, have come back to bite the PAP's on the arse and may land us a future gun is already gold! I just hope this kids ends up at the Crows for 15 years and gets compared to Carey. And when Rooch is on his death bed in years to come the last thing he watch's is this kids induction into the AFL hall of fame as a legend and in his speech he thanks Rooch for his part in getting him to the Crows.

You certainly play the long game!

if he is on the saturday morning sport show this week, people need to ask him why has he changed his stance since Gibbs rule which he got changed

*if you cant get past the Port

When vetting your initial call my experience is using a slightly emotional - but sufficiently controlled - over-the-top topic to be discussed of “needing to chat about this latest VFL injustice that shames our great states footy legacy” or words to that effect will get you straight through to the tracksuit bandit

Then go to work on him

Correct. From memory a couple of Vic teams (think Pies) were all over him and crows were showing LEAST interest until Tex and family perservered

Tex basically told the Crows "I have offers from a bunch of clubs, but I want to play for you, so hurry up and sign me up or I'll go with one of them instead."

Fantasia eventually decided to do it... then after he left, Rendell came on board and was going to cut Walker until he found out we'd already spent the money :p

Walker was seen as a middle-level talent. We thought we were getting a second-round level talent for a late pick, not a future captain.

is there any evidence that rucci was responsible for the Gibbs scenario or is it simply a rumour? I have no doubt it’s true, just curious as to how everyone is so sure.

How accurate is this? I know someone from Broken Hill who told me early on what a gun Tex was and was going to be. He was playing against men and performing very well. I would be surprised we didn’t identify that talent as well.

One thing you could never do, put identifying talent and Fantasia in the same sentance?

I only caught the end of it where Hutchy mentioned Kochie's foot in mouth on Thursday, yet Norton respectfully disagreed. Norton is clearly biased & makes it a joke he is on 5AA controlling the Port message & shutting down any negative comments, not matter the truth.
talking footy, footy classified/ footy show/fiveaa?

where is this clip?
cheers
