Good
Eddie B - yeah he's a gun. He should get some kind of one off-trophy for managing 4 goals as a small forward playing alongside McKernan, Johnston and the old guy with a 2 year deal.
Smith - I want to see more of Q3 Smith. He really can be an exceptional player. Can't afford to let him become another Teflon Mackay (who admittedly was okay today).
Thompson - I criticised the shit out of him last week. Can't fault him at all today. Superb at stoppages, the only guy who looked like winning contested ball for us at times.
Dougie and Sloane both played well. Kerridge had a good negating game. Grigg had some nice moments but lost far too many one on ones.

Bad
Crouch vs Ebert in the first half. If you have an unfit player, why the **** would you have them try to tag Ebert. Crouch in general isn't looking right. Slow and consistently burning the ball.
Worst game of football I've seen Danger play.

Ugly
Our game plan is dependent on kicking the ball backwards to Matthew Jaensch. I don't even know... even Neil Craig recognised how worthless Tony Armstrong's game was. Just stand a mile off the play and rack up uncontested marks and disposals off half back. And now we've taken that concept and ran with it as a basis of our ball movement. Why would any coach in their right mind stake so much on a fringe player?
Players deciding that when kicking inside 50, a long bomb to a triple teamed Eddie Betts was our best chance of getting the goal.
- the ugliest fact is that they were probably right.

Good
Eddie very dangerous but give him some fellas that can get the ball to ground and help keep it in the area.....
Thomson, Sloane and Smith worked hard to get us back into the game

Bad
Worse game played by Danger. Seemed to be looking for the frees rather than just doing the work. A few others guilty of that too. Port set the standard for back up running and support which we never met. The number of times Port were able to get a one two happening in close confines was enormously frustrating. It was as if the Crows were constantly saying to themselves 'what.......he kept running on after giving off.....are you allowed to do that? The facts were that Port just wanted it more nearly every time there was a contest and often won the ball with fewer numbers....and scored!

Ugly
Take your pick....Smack, Pods, Johnston....jaensch is kinda like seeing Armitage line up on a half back flank for Carlton....you know your on a winner if your the opposition.

Dumb football. everyone go for the ball, let Wingard or Polec swoop and run off.
Turnovers inside 50 disgraceful
Our kicking was good, except for when we really needed it to be.
"Hammer" winning bog. Surely Ebert or Wingard deserved?
The guy who yelled "get off our oval, back to West Lakes"
Hooray another bad season. Must win next week.

Said it in the other thread. Porps had one shocking handball and he's being gunned down.

Plenty of way worse players for us today.

Mate, you must really watch footy form a different perspective than I.
You want to crucify Jaench yet absolve Porps??? WTF? 2 cones, 9 beers and I still back my view here.

Any other year Id be right with ya, but Jaench has been in our best the past 2 games(as much as it erks me to admit), and as for Porps, Just compare his output to the oppositions "super sub" today. Hes cooked along with about 65% of our list.

Open that critical eye of yours.

UGLY

THE ABSOLUTE ****S WHO YELLED OUT DURING THE MINUTE SILENCE FOR DEAN BAILEY.

For those of you old enough... cast your mind back to the Port game immediately following the September 11 attacks on the US - it was Port v Hawthorn semifinal... a minute's silence was held for the victims of that attack - and during it, some Syd yelled out, "Carn The Powa!"

Not surprising they wouldn't respect one of their own.

The good
Sloane - busted his balls, he'll be asking Douglas for the name of his surgeon!
Thommo and Dougy - hard working midfielders
Jaensch and Smith - trying to provide run and rebound with penetrating kicks
Betts - goals!

The bad
Talia and Rutten - how do they go to ground so easy?? Ie- Wingard snap (Rutten falling) , Talia vs Monfries? last qtr. Guys, u r big - be strong, stand up!
Back line stats - Rutten 12, Talia 14, Brown 13, Shaw 13, Reilly 18. it showed we had no control across half back.
McKernan - did he play?
Porplyzia - sorry, your time has passed.

The ugly
Our game plan that doesn't suit the players we have.
Dangerfields disposal selections. Same as last week, run then handball....nowhere..? Feeling the pressure of being our most hunted player

Unfortunately it's not just what you do when you've got the ball but also what you do when you haven't. I'd rather a ball magnet that blindly sends the ball forward than a player who can't get his hands on it.

Frankly am amazed to see his name mentioned a lot more than who he was subbed on for.

Can it get worse ?? After we humiliated them in 2012 they rebuilt from the ground up, we need to turn the club upside down

If an injured Crouch and Jaensch performed today at a B and Shaw was acceptable at a C then we are in a whole lot more trouble than I thought.
Saving grace is Crouch will get better, the other 2 wont.

I thonk you lot jave a beauty in Smith.

Slone, Betts, Douglas....wow I can't remember a Crows side that turned the ball over so much or made so made bad decisions. How can players two games out from a preseason pumped up as the best ever play so putridly?? Port got 90% of their goals from our bumbling mistakes.
Just so disappointed in that effort from players paid to play football and represent the club on such a historic day for SA football.

Way too much talk about how good we are going to be this year, preseason. All hype to get the membership money coming in. I've held back from joining in, just to see how we look. It was obvious in the GWS trial, we have not progressed at all. They will not get my money Yet.

Good
- Kerridge, great job on Smack
- Sloane, just gives all day
-Douglas, considering his injury he would have been excused for a poor game however his efforts put many others to shame
- Smith, like Sloane worked hard all game
- Betts, great pick up by the club and has kicked 6 goals in two games were we have been under fire

Bad
- Talia, was terrible especially the way he went to ground
- Danger, his worse game in two years, yet to step up to leading as our Capt
- Truck, should be used strategically on players like J Brown and if their is not a slow Gorilla forward then rest him
- Wright, forget pre-seSon form he is having little impact on the contest
- DMac, not a real bad game but still not enough, just does not seem to be able to break the 20 possession barrier
- Smack, didn't fire a shot
- LJ, yet to be trusted as a AFL footballer, good one minute, soft the next

Ugly
-JPod
- Turnovers
- Lack if game plan

I've never been that embarrassed after a Crows loss in my entire life, time for a footy free week as this is just far too painful atm. All I hope is that Porpoise and Mckernan/Pods are dropped next week; and Jenkins, Laird and Matt Crouch come in. Don't care who Matt Crouch replaces, anyone is fine.
