Reminder, in 2010 that the Pies won the replay by 56 points against a team with a forward line of Riewoldt, Koshitchzke and Milne. Cloke and Dawes were our only talls. We had Sidey, Beams and Ball at HF and FF

If we stopped them, the current team can surely restrict Charlie, Daniher and Hipwood.
Hipwood has kicked 2 goals this finals series.. he is in bad form.

Rayner and Bailey are pretty dangerous IMO.

After being given the fright of their lives against Carlton in the 1st quarter I'd expect that to be a real focus for Fagan this week.

We need to be every bit as ready for manic pressure as they should from the opening bounce and I'll be happy if we can take their best shot, absorb it and break even at 1/4 time.

In trying to make sure they don't replicate their start against Carlton I'm hoping they might use up more petrol tickets than they'd like in quarter one for no genuine scoreboard advantage.

Us bringing the better pressure across the entire 4 quarters is as much a key as anything to winning the Premiership.
Pressure like we give doesn't suit their game style, I doubt they're gonna go away from their style to mitigate our pressure.

They'll try and absorb it, as long as they can, which will be longer than what the blose brought to them.

Sure, they will bring their own but it won't be like what gws brought.

I want this flag so badly for Fly.

Naturally I want it for all of the supporter base but I have loved this man from the moment he took the job. His mission from day one was to embrace and utilize our club's greatest resource-the supporters. He has done it with genuine passion, gratitude and love. We have seen the results. Record crowds, unforgettable atmosphere and passion in the stands and the Pies playing winning football.

For years our supporter base has been neglected, taken for granted and at times blamed for the team's failure. I remember Tony Shaw getting angry in 1996 (I think) when we won 8 of our first 10 games and looked likely to be a contender before falling away, and Tony called out the fans for having unrealistic expectations.

Bucks seemed to vacillate with regard to the supporters with times of barely concealed contempt when attempting to explain the complexities of the game to we nuffies before having his road to Damascus moment in 2018.

I have always been astounded by the club's lack of engagement with the fanbase. I got to know Tony Shaw for a brief period when I had cancer. I wrote him a letter in the week before our clash with Essendon at the G telling him he was alienating his army with comments about unrealistic expectations. I suggested he draw on the passion of the army and take the team huddle to our goal square at the Ponsford end and see the response it will bring.

On the Saturday I sat in the Southern stand with my son. At three quarter time we were a goal down and what happened? Tony led the entire team down to the goal square at the Ponsford end. I had tears running down my face as the crowd broke out in the Collingwood chant (the old one) and turned to my son in disbelief. He knew about the letter and beamed in disbelief.

We were all over the Bombers and in the last couple of minutes I thought a Sav log bomb had put us in front. It just missed and we fell short by a few points, but I felt so touched by what I had seen.

I wrote a letter to the club about the lack of engagement after games when other teams were regularly going to their fans after games and high fiving or clapping them in appreciation whereas the Collingwood players simply left the ground win lose or draw to celebrate or commiserate in the privacy of the rooms. I wrote that we were the most loyal, passionate fans in the comp and the players took us for granted, because we kept turning up even when struggling. I said they may change their tune if they became North or Melbourne players and appreciate what they once had.

Greg Swan wrote me a letter saying he had taken note and that the players do appreciate the supporters before giving a few excuses about a specific game I mentioned but he assured me they do care.

So this call for engagement and connection has been a running theme for me for decades. It has taken a little bloke who helped break our hearts back in 2002 and 2003 to finally understand what a gift the Collingwood army is to the team and he has reaped the reward.

Let's hope we can give him the greatest present a man ever received for his 50th, albeit a week late.

The thinking is that WHE uses his smarts to lead Andrews away from dangerous places and if he is being used, will make him more accountable. Frampton to me will play to Andrews strengths by merely trying to contest. He is not a forward.
Andrews won’t get sucked into that, he’ll mind the position he wants and get someone else to man WHE.

Not in the thoughts I’m having.

And thank you for clarifying which ‘Billy’ you are referring to. I’ve had trouble following some of the ‘Billy’ discussion.
you're welcome. i'm always thinking of likely scenarios like darcy cameron kicking 4 ........kicks

Why would Andrews follow WHE, that would be dumb, he’ll go to Mihocek.
Lester or Gardiner would take WHE.
We need size to challenge Andrews that’s why Frampton will be picked.
