It's a very minor detail but Harrison being named emergency is very interesting. I would have put Reef. think Harrison has been largely unnoticed but his time to shine will come soon. Our emergencies in 2018 were Jarryd Blair (retired), Ben Reid (retired), Cal Brown (delisted), Flynn Appleby (delisted, college punter on track to the NFL). Wonder how the careers of Lipinski (sub), Noble, Macrae and Harrison go.

Melbourne showed their true, petulant selves after we beat them.

They made Maynard the villain to deflect from being, IMO, one of the 2 best list in the comp, to a poorly coached team that relies on talent to win.

We must win the flag. We are 20-5 for the year and many are disrespecting us.

We are here for a reason.
Don’t forget that we overachieved according to the draw too. The Pies have been awesome this season.

A big intangible that will help carry us to victory on Saturday is the experience of our coaches and on-field leadership.

Fly and Leppa are three-time Premiership players and four-time grand finalists. Pendles and Sidey are Premiership players and four-time grand finalists (incl 2010 replay). Howe, Maynard, Cox, Elliott, Mihochek, DeGoey and Mitchell have all played in a grand final. Moore might not have played in a GF but is a mature, natural leader. We have an abundance of experience and leadership all over the field.

By contrast, Fagan has not coached or played in an AFL Grand Final. The Lions are light-on for on-field leadership. Rich and Gunston are not playing and several of the Lions most experienced players - guys like Zorko, Danniher, Cameron - have never been noted for their selflessness or inspirational leadership.

Under the ultimate pressure on Saturday, I think our superior leadership and experience, both on the field and in the coaches’ box, may be the factor that gets us over the line.

Let’s dream big! Go Pies!

No need to dream my friend. This is happening.

What the pineapple-boy said.

Lipinski's lack of burst pace will be less evident when fatique has set in; that's undeniably sensible.
Seeing it's GF week, I'll let you in on a bit of a secret. I think Hawaiian pizzas suck. I just think that we should be inclusive towards idiots with defective taste buds - unless they're also rangas.

Not sure if it will make any difference on game day, but I do like that with the early selection announcements McRae is concentrating on what he feels is right for our players instead of playing mind games with the opposition

Go Ginni you good thing. All our forwards will be actual forwards on Saturday, no hiding excess midfielders in the forward line with adams out and now lipinski off to the sub bench. Lippa will be an excellent sub.

Edit…. Weather coming into play with selection here. Outside players needed.

Very good point.👍

It’s not even a detail, it’s irrelevant trivia

You are a harsh man, ive heard beau and jfn looove tropical pizza, fancy name for hawaian pizza

I've been trying to find the 2010 version of 'Good Old Collingwood Forever' sung by members of Opera Australia, but no luck. I had it on an old 1TB hard drive, but it died a while back. I did find this viola version from the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra's Anthony Chataway and it's terrific.
Does anybody have the AO version? Slim hope I know.
Found it:

IMO, our approach to delivery inside F50 with this line-up really needs to be disciplined. It’s gotta be hit up a leading target or if none presenting, a chaos ground ball. Minimise aerial contests.

There'll be more than a couple 'kicks for touch' where it dribbles over the line 10-20m from our goals, especially once we have a lead

When I wrote that I thought I'd make an exception for Beau and the Wildling from Game of Thrones if their taste buds were defective.

Media is going crazy about andrews now, despite brisbane backs getting towelled up by Ollue Lord only 2 games ago.

Anyway Im not worried about Andrews intercept marking - we can stop that.
I am worried about his effective punch spoils 10 metres behind or in front of the pack. Its a really effective techniques for getting quick play through marking contests. They used it well against us last time.
I trust the coaches are on top of this, and our talls control the soft drop.

Finally , I'm starting to lose the plot with anticipation now. Its kicking in.

It could be that there is a plan to have Hill and Ginni front and center whenever Andrews spoils. Also notable that with four small, dangerous forwards, we may be able to keep Coleman and McKenna accountable. Whereas Carlton only have one, maybe two dangerous forwards.
