In the end all we really have to do is convert, we will get plenty of inside 50s and plenty of shot at goal. If we lose it will be because of our chronic inaccuracy.

100% agree. There were only 3 games this year, where the opposition had more scoring shots then us. So odds on, we will have more then Sydney again this week, we just need to make sure we convert.

It was actually Goo who destroyed jetta, he just out muscled him, and outread the play, next to burgoyne Goo was our best player against the swans.
You could say Guerra taught Jetta a fair football lesson that day. Sometimes you need more than pace to be effective. He still needs a lot of attention, we will see if he is a big game player on Saturday.

The swans won in Tassie, they flogged us, the ground over there is probably bigger than the MCG..

Sorry I know you were replying to something more specific about ground size, but my recollections of that game aren't so much that we got smashed. From memory, early on in the piece we looked like we were going to kick away from them quite comfortably, and then we got incredibly complacent, stopped going as hard at the ball and eventually let them run over the top of us. That's just my memory of the game anyhow. They're a great side, that can't be ignored, but on that day I think our failings were more crucial to the result than their abilities.

You'd have to think a few guys will be breathing easier with Goo ruling himself out. Now only one spot to be taken with Hodgey to come in.

Gotta say, just slowly getting geared up for the game. I reckon I was more nervous last week. Not that I think we are guaranteed to win, far from it, but I think it was the being tossed out in another prelim like last year that had me rather antsy.

Great to hear Hodgey is going to be there and seems pumped. 4 more sleeps
^this +1

Serioulsy though. I believe the squad or training group is the 22 from Prelim plus Hodgey, Max, Cheney and Changa. Dont think they'll be any great shocks though. It will be just who comes out for Hodgey.

Looking at the exultation of Murphy after the prelim win (just re-watched the match last night), you could tell how much this meant to him.

I've been a doubter, but I think we need Murphy as a footsoldier down back (and this allows us to use Hodge flexibly). Then Ellis is sub (great player but body is too fragile to risk for the full match), and Savage goes out for Hodge.

But that said, I could understand Sav staying in and Murphy being the unluckly one. Sav is great when he fires, but IMHO, he's not consistent enough.

Poppy can have a damaging 10 min here and there, has the ability to take a screamer and throw the opposition off, and is a useful tough forward sneak. Just got to hammer home a clear message: "No Jackie Chan stunts!"

Hodge in for Young, out injured.

They tend to ping the ball around in the back half so Poppy is safe. X may go to Shaw like he did to Reilly. Hopefully Rough has had a boot up the clacker and clunks a couple. If Rough kicks two or more we win.

Yep, poppy in (unless injured). He will (forward) tag Shaw or Malceski like he has done to the damaging half flankers all year. Hopefully he does it better than he did last week, but put about 17 others into the 'must do better' category as well.

I strangely feel much more relaxed about this week compared to last. I'm just absorbing all it all and loving it. This week I KNOW that the boys are going to be ruthlessly focused on the match, not saving themselves for anything, not thinking about 'next week' etc. Last week, there were too many balls up in the air.

What makes you think Young wont come up, no injury has been reported??? His pretty important to our structure, is more important now with now Whitecross. If Young is out, then Savage will defiantly. This will only leave Isaac Smith as our only quick outside Midfielder.

Anyone got any news on Young????

I was very worried last week, I had a feeling the Crows will come out breathing fire especially with how the media approached the week. I was actually scared that they might win and knock us out of the prelim.

With this weeks game, I actually want this game to start. I'm not really worried, I know that our players would have learn't from last week and will give it there best. I'm also glade that Hodgey is back, we play much better when his out there. I just want this game to start I'm sick of seeing all these Sydney articles!!!
