How would accepting an indigenous person's 'truth' as the truth work?Well no, because I didn’t say that.

Listening would be a good start. How would accepting an indigenous person's 'truth' as the truth work?
You’ve got the wrong end of my stick brother. Haven’t said anyone should make a conclusion right now.Nothing about legal - it’s about the abject stupidity of anyone drawing conclusions on what has been reported so far. Right now, the only rational response is to wait for more information, not rush to pious garbage, which seems to be your vibe.

Actually not true. I at least try to be succinct. Unlike weary mouth
They must have felt comfortable with the Hawthorn inquiry.
I doubt they feel comfortable now.
I hope they do participate but I can totally understand why they would choose not to.
We all know that nothing will be proven.
Which leaves us to draw our own conclusions.
A huge swathe of people go to a journalist to tell their story. Are you 100% sure that isn't leaking a story?, seems a strange place to go and confide your sufferings. I would have thought there are much more qualified listeners than an ABC journalist
Regardless, the investigation will proceed. Their own conclusions, people can then draw.
In any case it could only be said you type too much, unless you read aloud as you type, in which case you need a bit of help.Actually not true. I at least try to be succinct. Unlike weary mouth
Go to the Yoda translator then copy/paste the resultant text into "Fakeyou" (fakeyou.com) after selecting yoda voice text to speech generator.Regardless, the investigation will proceed. Their own conclusions, people can then draw.
Yoda Speak translator
Convert from English to Yoda speak. Yoda often orders sentences as Object-Subject-Verb, split verbs, switches entire phrases and sometimes uses sentences that are different from his normal syntax! Because of this it is difficult to accurately represent his sentence structure. But we tried hard...funtranslations.com

Something along the lines of:How would accepting an indigenous person's 'truth' as the truth work?
AFL have said they're running the inquiry with or without the claimants. You drew your own conclusion at the outset. Many others probably did too. But seriously, if they have now decided that 'they don't feel comfortable' and don't wish to participate, then surely they should say so immediately so the inquiry can be dismissed and everyone involved returns to getting on with their lives.
Good. It can't be allowed to drag on and on. If people's reputations and livelihoods are to be tarnished, let that happen immediately rather than at some unannounced time somewhere in the future. I would have also thought the claimants would want their allegations dealt with as soon as possible too.AFL have said they're running the inquiry with or without the claimants.
I don’t see why the claimants would want this dealt with as soon as possible. They have already told their story, what do they have to gain by telling it again?Good. Surely they want some kind of outcome? I am sure they haven't told their story for the sake of it.I don’t see why the claimants would want this dealt with as soon as possible. They have already told their story, what do they have to gain by telling it again?
Oh well if they boycott the inquiry, their very serious claims will be dismissed and the football world will move on. Personally I don't recall them stating that they would not participate in an inquiry controlled by the AFL. Surely the AFL is the right body to deal with this situation. The claimants stated very early that they were happy to participate in any enquiry that was not controlled by the AFL.
So what happens? The AFL control the enquiry!
I will not blame any aboriginal player, or their partners, if they do not participate in this kangaroo court.

People keep saying this, or variants of it, but it doesn’t make sense. If not the AFL, which body would be appropriate to constitute the enquiry? The claimants stated very early that they were happy to participate in any enquiry that was not controlled by the AFL.

I cannot envisage any other body being more appropriate to manage the enquiry than the AFL. I see no reason why they would not give the claimants a fair hearing. You might not remember it but they did. They made a statement through their lawyer stating that they would participate in an enquiry that wasn't run by the AFL not long after the article was published. Surely you can empathise with why they wouldn't want the AFL to manage this if what they claim is true.
