I think as a club we need to consider and review our indigenous support. Not saying we've done anything wrong, but it's a reminder that these things are incredible important and sensitive and we should review on a regular basis. We should want to ensure we have the highest standards in the league.

To those wanting to dismiss this...

I am pretty skeptical of this sort of reporting most of the time, especially (when I saw the headline) for this article since the ABC have an unhealthy appetite/obsession for anything with a possible race angle.

However, this appears to be well founded (stems from an internal club review) and obviously serious. The worst of those stories aren't acceptable in any industry or to anyone, let alone young people in a cutthroat industry who (potentially) are in another state to what has been their family/support group

Have to say - if your first reaction to this is “lol Norf”, you may want to take a good, hard look at yourself. This transcends petty football tribalism.

Thoughts first and foremost should be with those subjected to this behaviour, and the delivery of justice/compensation to all affected.

You're right. Bateman hired in November 2018. Left in October 2020, came back March 2022.

Phil Narkle left in April 2020 after 11 years to work at the WA Football Commission.

So for a while there we had both Narkle and Bateman, then neither of them, now just Bateman. I'm not sure if we have anyone else in similar roles or if Bateman is a one-man team.
