Suddenly, anyone's a chance of a test match. Webster, Inglis, Konstas, Hunt, Goodwin, Cartwright, Patterson. And Jason Sangha, because why not?
If we're 3-0 we may as well roll that out on Boxing Day.

Konstas
Hunt
Goodwin
Cartwright
Patterson
Sangha
Webster
Carey (wk) (C)
Murphy
Boland
Abbott

Imagine the blowback. 😊

Cummins looks a shell of his former self. Boland looked the pick of the bunch so far.

Starc once again bowling incredibly well for a guy most people will tell you is useless

He's a very, very good but not great test player. He can go for runs but anyone with a strike rate under 50 who has spent the majority of their career bowling real pace is a huge asset.

In terms of 50 over cricket he is one of the all time greats. Top wicket taker at 2 world cups, average comes down to 23 and strike rate of 26. Of those to play more than 100 ODI's he has the second best strike rate of all time and the guy who he is marginally behind he has a slightly better average and economy rate than.

Yeah, I'm not putting him alongside McGrath or Warne, but I think he's as good as anyone in the next tier down.

This is going to be like David Warner all over again - yes, not a GOAT, but still an elite Test player that when he retires will leave a huge hole in the team, and 'fans' wondering why we aren't as good in opening batting/strike bowling any more.

The guy will retire with close enough to 400 Test wickets ffs. Not everyone can be Glenn McGrath or Dennis Lillee.

Yeah he’s incredibly effective as a wicket taker. Australian cricket fans have such stupidly high expectations! Lose one test and suddenly everyone’s a potato

There is a valid point to be made that some may be going to too long and part of a credits crew (to borrow a WC board meme), but surely Starc is still one of the first selected, for good reason.

Sangha had to leave NSW because he wasn’t good enough to hold down a spot in their XI.

He’s probably a good get for SA because he’s still pretty young and it’s not that long ago that he looked to be an emerging talent, but his returns at Shield level have generally been terrible.
