Kohli is getting close to the point where there are younger and better players to be batting at that spot. Problem is, he’s basically a national hero in India and there’s no graceful way to remove him from the XI without him voluntarily removing himself. Don’t particularly like Kohli but he’s probably one of India’s 5 best cricketers of all time, and certainly the best cricketer in the post-Tendulkar era. Not easy to move on from someone like that.

Only 3 wickets fell the day I was at Optus and the over rate was dismal then too. We had the 12th man running on with drinks and stuff at the end of most overs.

Umpires have to do better.

I think the days of 90 overs being bowled are long gone. As good as technology like DRS and reviewing every ball for front foot no balls is, it’s made it very difficult to achieve the 90 overs in a day.
