They shafted themselves by not being up to standard.

Too early to tell but hopefully this NSW kid develops into the next long term opener.

I'd just be promoting Head and playing a Webster or Hardie.

Pucovski's health issues not ideal, would have been opening for us right now otherwise you would feel

Things that jumped out at me:
Perth gets the first Test, yay, but it's late November, boo.
The Gabba gets the pink ball Test, Adelaide just a normal daytime Test.
The series, as they always are nowadays, is very condensed, however those last three Tests are just taking the mickey.

Lowest ever total at home for India

My Indian mate cut off comms after Kohli went out for a globe. Then things got worse :D

On a side note, was surprised that Kohli hasn't cracked 10k runs yet in tests despite his age

Hardie names for Sunday. Number 3 spot will be interesting with Goodwin likely to make way. Cartwright failed, Bison should and could but also not the role his plys for Australia. A left field selection could be Hardie. Perfect opportunity him to make runs there and audition for the test all round spot

Just an absolute brain fart to choose to bat first
Almost as bad as Ponting's decision to bowl first at Edgbaston in 2005.

1-0 up in the series. Man of the first match (McGrath) and the seam/swing option that might use the early humidity treads on a ball in the warmup and can't play.
Wins the toss and bowls.
And this with the option of batting and giving Shane Warne access to the 4th innings pitch.

Everyone at the ground (and we were there) was stunned. Not one person I spoke to wouldn't have batted first.

The Oval 2019

The Oval 2023.

His insane performance in 50 and 20 over international matches over the years has probably meant his Test performance gets overrated a little
Yep his white ball form lifts his test ball output. He is great without being exceptional like other. It’s kinda funny how good his odi record is in an era where it’s now the most irrelevant format by far and basically it’s only Indians thats really care for it

Reckon he’ll average like 10 in the series against Australia but they’ll never drop him because of unlimited credits

At least Pakistan had the guts to drop Babar

Was averaging over 50 with the bat in all 3 formats at one stage, he's averaging near there now.

It's an incredible record
