Thanks to dip shit Dan Andrews who encouraged people to move down this way but did sweet FA to improve infrastructure to handle a heap more people.

Such a cockroach of a grifter politician.
Sit down you absolute bore.

I think it’s a combination of the two.

I listen to a ton of new music and I’d say there’s still a lot of fantastic stuff out there but it’s easy to lose in the amount of artists that are available at our fingertips now.

Triple J has changed its taste a bit now and the Top 100 tends to have much more tunes that are radio-popular instead of being indie/alternative like it used to be.

Plus if you add in nostalgia, hearing those classics returns you to those fun memories of your life.

I'm a country boy originally. Much prefer outer East Melbourne than country life (at this stage).

Hardly ever go into City though. Pretty much mainly for sporting events only. It is a real cesspit.

Maybe once all kids have pissed off we will sell up, buy a big block in the bush & relax.

Melbourne’s a great city. Enjoy the Bellarine as well, as we always used to visit Geelong as a kid as we had family friends there. My ideal place would be on the coast there…but very expensive. Ocean Grove a place keeping an eye on.

Think about small country towns is I’d imagine it’s easy to know everyone’s business. Plus many have drug problems as well and some people live there to hide. Not all roses. I’d be bored shitless in too small a town

Thief of oxygen. Shocking premier.

Read this week we're getting a new sports arena, Geelong United may benefit. The arena is out of date now

Both Heads and OG are bloody hard places to navigate during summer. The bridge, and the roundabout is bottleneck city.

Another useless local grifter is the Deputy PM.

Not enough parking in and around the hospital yet there sits a worthless Army Reserve base right across the road that could be turned into a multi-story car park to ease all the issues in the area.

You think the Minister for Defence will do anything for the locals? **** no!

Anglesea is the best coastal town down this way.

Aware bridge at Heads, but haven’t found too bad getting to OG. I go to Torquay/ Jan Juc mostly but very expensive place.

Always liked Eastern Beach as great memories when we were kids and love the way they’ve done it up

Nice but gees it’s packed in the summer

They all get packed though.

Best thing about Anglesea is it won't get overrun by new developments.

OG imo is a bland place and Torquay is full of cashed up bogans and their little gronk kids. Barwon Heads ok I guess, better than OG.

Portarlington not too bad, Queenscliff is limited by land and cost. St Leonards was quiet but is growing. Drysdale also in the mix.

He doesn't give a shit about you or that.

We've got a place down near the yacht club in St Leonards, i think it's the best part of town. Nice quiet beach away from the herds and a members only boat ramp you dont have to wait in line for.

The traffic though nowadays in peak times in crazy. Bit sad it's not our quiet little fishing village amymore.

Just finished listening to the Hottest 100 of 2004 on Double J. Man music was better back then.
it's largely because pop music these days is so generic and bland. there's no defining sound, nothing that grabs your attention, nothing that makes you feel anything. you have to go to other genres for that. at least in the past i could understand why songs were popular, they had something to them. these days they just exist to be on social media videos.

Listening to this countdown, someone like Abrams just sounds like Lorde 2.0, or Billie Eilish, or any of those samey sultry female singers these days, but she's cleaning up. Even Charli XCX who I liked some of her older stuff just has nothing that stands out in this countdown. As you say it's just becoming very bland.

There was a song where my wife started dancing along so I asked if it was a TikTok song which of course it was, and that's basically the state of things.

the kids just want slow, sad country pop songs about abusive relationships done to sultry whispers.

Charli XCX just broke G-Flips record from last year and Billie Eilish is at 7 in this countdown too. Gracie Abrams has a bunch too I think. Despite the supposed depth and breadth of music these days that's crazy numbers for a handful of artists.

I think one thing specific to the countdown that is killing it is the people/groups who just vote as many songs as possible of their favourite artists. Like you said someone like Charli XCX who it all sounds very samey somehow has 7? songs already. In the early days a lot of people tried to not vote for the same artist twice.

More generally it does feel like that there is a pop sound to most of the music and it is all very generic. I find there’s still new music out there I enjoy but really have to look for it now when in the past I’d just stumble across it.

googled gracie abrams. she's jj abrams daughter. nepotism explains so much these days
