How did we actually land Nike back then? The more time goes on, the more I'm baffled at it.
Cause we had Port People like Bolton and Cunningham who knew our value, didn’t create a gimmick to market us, we were a driven business with a simple business model which executed our core Business Objective - Winning games of Football. We had strong willed Coaches and Players engaged with their community, the community in turn trusted the leaders with their funds, which made us one of the biggest clubs in Australia at the Turn of the Centruy.

Other clubs turned to Gimmicks and flew past us, we achieved what Bucky and Boults set out to do and they then passed the torch on, we lost sight of what Port Adelaide was, what we stood for and looked to other teams success and tried to replicate. We continued this trend until Casual Keith Thomas came in and corrected the ship, a Football Person to get Football right. However he knew where he had deficiencies and in came Koch, over time Koch influenced the Board and more and more decisions which moved us away from ‘Football’ again and then with Keith’s departure we have again turned to a Business man to oversee football…

Long will this cycle rule…

Macron design kits for sporting giants like the Albanian NT, Wydad FC, and The entire Canadian football league.

It is fitting that our administration proceeded with a business whose biggest assets are in Serie B and Serie C.
Yeah sure, their biggest assets don’t include Crystal Palace, Bologna, Udinese, Real Sociedad, Osasuna, Nantes and Auxerre. That’s 7 clubs across 4 of the top 5 soccer leagues in the world. I realise they’re not exactly glamour clubs, but let’s at least not be completely disingenuous.

Dude they’re definitely wearing two jumpers here.

100% that is 2 jumpers.
Is there like some joke I'm not in on? That's clearly a single guernsey on each of 3 seperate players. There is no way 3 seperate players are wearing a double guernsey that sits exactly the same on each player.

It's a terrible, SINGLE, jumper design.

yeah it's typical to see fabrics sewn in underneath to make them look layered or like they have accents or something

Lol Cookie I honestly think you’re the one taking the piss here. Why would Macron have two collar logos on the one jumper?

Lol, I was literally thinking you're all trying to have a lend of me, but that's a good point and I think I see it now, there seems to be some sort of white singlet over the top maybe. Still looks way too uniform in its positioning in all 3 pics to definitely say it isn't some weird new training guernsey, but does appear it might be.

Collingwood were dumped by ISC, because ISC didn't want to run the AFL's style apparel sponsorships anymore. Especially when the AFL itself, puts out junk merch in competition.
Don’t kid yourself, ISC were bankrupt as they have been many times before. They were well protected by the AFL as the AFL didn’t need the same negative media storm so soon after BLK’s very similar collapse through unsustainable sponsorships.

Also ISC’s quality is woeful, it generally well designed but the manufacturing and fabrics are run of the mill and cheap.

Dumb af. Whoever decides we should sell this just doesn't get it at all. I assume the AFL forces us to have this style of fauxback merch?

Fauxback Power stuff has never worked and will never work. The absolute best you can do with it is the Mitchell and Ness 90s throwback bootleg style t-shirts. If you're throwing back earlier than 1996, then Power makes no sense and looks dumb. There was no Power when this style of jacket was being made. It immediately reads as wrong.

We released the Jack Cahill jacket as part of the 94 celebration merch this year and it was incredible, beautifully made and a proper throwback piece that sold like hotcakes. That sort of merch always flies off the shelf.

I can't imagine anyone buying the above jacket outside of a well meaning family member from interstate or overseas buying it for a Port supporter for a birthday or xmas, in the same way that I have about 30 star wars t-shirts and stubby holders that I never use.

that merch is just like us as a whole, It Exists to Exist, it has no guiding philosophy or strategy or anything, it just 'is' in order to 'be'

I guess a lot of AFL clubs follow the philosophy they can take any item and slap a logo or club colours on there and someone will buy it. I have never thought to myself I need a set of kitchen knives and some aftershave, I better pop down to the Club and make a purchase, but I suppose someone buys that stuff.

A lot of (all) clubs receive merchandise that the AFL itself has licensed.

Its all the generic put something in club colours and slap the logo on it merch. Pretty well any merch where its the same products in different colours is AFL created.
