Charlie Cameron is worth the price of admission. Absolute game changer.

Absolute stud. Just never stops, can have three efforts across 30 metres within 20 seconds that all impact the play.

This thread is where the action is. Positives... we can run hard defensively as we did for last 15 minutes. Need to do this before half time to win.
McLuggage in traffic is elite, will have a great season, I bet my house on it.
Charlie Cameron is super exciting... let's give him more help up forward. Another marking target for mine.

The difference between 0-5 and 4-1 isn't as big as it looks. We were ahead in the 3rd against St Kilda, ahead in the 4th against Melbourne, lost by less than a kick in 2 others. Despite the temptation to throw baby out with bathwater I still think we have improved from last year. If we had this run last year our % would be something like 40 right now.

After Round 5:

PF = 336 ; PA =490; %age = 68.57

1) we have now conceded less than 100 points per match on average. Can't remember the last time in the last 4 seasons that's happened.

2) we have conceded less points than both Carlton and the Dogs (517 and 530 respectively)

3) we are still in front of the Blues on %age

Take out the Richmond horror show, and it's

PF = 319; PA = 380; %age = 83.95

which probably more accurately reflects our efforts this season

The challenge for this week is to avoid a Richmond-esque blowout against the Giants.

Realistically, that's probably the best we can hope for.

Andrews game was a ripper. He has the goods on Lynch.

Yes, he was bloody fantastic.

Lynch has been clunking a lot of marks from the ball that's been coming his way this season but Harry managed to almost silence him last night.

Also, I think he's got the wood on Lynch as well as the goods;)

0-5 was a lucky number for the swans in 2017 (ignore the 17 point game and other trivial issues). We are on track for finals!!

Wasn't it 0-6?

So we have another loss to suffer this weekend before starting our run with a storming win against the Pies in Round 7.

In one pre-season we've improved out of sight to be 2nd AFL for clearances vs our direct opponent :fire::fire::fire:

AND have not lost a clearance match-up yet this season. Imagine when Berry, Bailey, McCluggage, Rayner etc. actually play 50 games or so :)
I know this is positives thread, but we lost clearance count against GC

I actually like McStay up forward again. I know he shanked a few but he presented well and had 4 opportunities. I'm also a Walker fan, but I honestly think Dan deserves a chance to build his confidence up forward because he is a confidence player.

Can't say enough about Bez, Lugga and Withers. The guys just make the future seem bright regardless of the immediate ups and downs. Add 12 months to Rayner and Bailey and it'll be a midfield with some talent.

Andrews has shut me right up - I was worried after 2 rounds but he's worked his way back into great form, Dizz is in career best form. Hippy looks like he's starting to get his groove back.

A lot of s**t went astray in that Sun's game - we severely lacked confidence after the Richmond debacle - but we lost by 5. Even with all that.

I'll admit I was as frustrated as hell on the siren, but looking back there were some real positives out of that game. If debating Bastinac and Lesters futures are our negatives we're in a pretty good place.

McCluggage playing beyond expectation this year. The passage of play where he had about 3 calm efforts and set up Hippys goal just screamed future star of the competition. I'd personally have him in the top 4 in our BnF at the minute behind Charlie, Harris and Berry. He's obviously yet to really break through and become a massive ball winner but once those numbers rise he will be seriously damaging. The signs are there.

The Lions are conceding 98 points a game, down from 114 last year and 130 in 2016.

God I'd forgotten it was that bad.
