He'll stay, I've known him since junior footy, he's always been a lions supporter through and through.

legit lions supporter? hasn't been mentioned before

out of his draft class he was the one i was most worried about losing (besides the prince) because similarly to docherty he was killing it in reserves but not being fed games like some of the other guys in his class

Yeah, he preferably wanted to stay in Victoria, but if he was to go interstate he was very happy to go to the lions since he supported them. Don't know him well outside of footy but reports are that he loves it at the club.

I would've never picked him for a lions supporter. Just assumed he'd go for a melbourne team since he lived there.

Only thought about it now but its probably good that we got a difficult draw to start the year because Beams and Rockliff are out. This way they'll be back to their best when we play the non-top 6 teams. If we had a Collingwood like draw (playing Richmond, Melbourne and Saints) we probably would have lost some of them due to players being injured/suspended. At least this way we're full strength when playing them.

I absolutely love we've got serious selection head aches coming up, with Rocky, Beams, Mcstay and Paparone all due back by or before round 8. What this also means is four players who will be hard to drop will be in our neafl team which will improve their performance and help our younger guys out. Exciting few weeks ahead!

Also good to see Keayes and Hipwood pushing for selection as well.

Nice to see two Lions highlights (Cutler's goal and Hanley's running goal) in the 10 highlights on AFL.com.

It has been a while since we had a couple!
Yeah Hanley would have to be a shoe-in for goal of the week. Love me a long-running 50-metre snag

My positive for the week is completely self-absorbed...

My 9/9 tips this week has me at number 1 on the Lions tipping thing on lions.com.au (admittedly it's only out of 517 tipsters.. but I'm claiming it as a victory as it will be the only time I am on top of ANY tipping competition!)

Where did those goals come from? I've never seen anything like either goal from him previously. Plenty of untapped potential there.
Cuttler has power and kicking depth despite some of the concern on here over the past year about his disposal. He will continue to get better and handle pressure well. He will become our Yeo and Crisp in one! Now we need another running machine to break lines with him. Who do you think can become that player? Cian? Clayton? Dawson? McGrath? Papparone? William??????

I also think McGrath has an important role to play in our teams future. He can seriously play!

Not stating anything new in praising Schache, but he possesses a few really quality traits in that he leads far up the ground to help out when we're hemmed in the defensive 50, he marks the ball at the highest point and he's got good "nous" at ground level. Very good, quick hands. Doesn't fumble around with it like most big key forwards.

Haha i suppose. I work afternoons so technically not going to work till later.

My young American colleague and her Italian partner went to the game on Saturday night and I was afraid it wasn't going to be a spectacle to showcase the game, but what. Match. I caught up at half time and they were so excited! Confused as hell, but excited. Gotta love footy.
