I feel like clearances are a little more overrated these days. Certainly centre clearances can be more damaging but around the ground it could be argued you’re better off not winning the clearance but conceding it and creating a turnover instead. I think we have improved markedly in the turnover stakes.

Richmond is a case of point in the last few years.

Good point... this actually suits us IMO, as clearances are not an area we excel at these days.

Ps. anyone having a go at JUH for his debut, pull your heads in. Yes the commentary was nauseating leading up and during the match, and no he did not have a good debut. But he is an 18 year old kid playing his first game. We would not want people bagging one of our kids if they'd had a debut like that.
I only saw bits and pieces of the game for various reasons but what I saw of that kid is seriously frightening. The Buddy comparisons are entirely reasonable.

I have never seen it before but here it is.

Didn't see anyone having a go at him, just think that it was a flat debut after all the hype. To be expected though, their own coach said he wasn't really ready.

Genuine question - anyone else think we're in the conversation for the flag? Form in Victoria is tops. Who cares if we lose the odd game to a second rate Hawks, we're not going to face them in Finals, our record against the 8 is huge.

Still need to get into top 4 I think.

Some will say the dogs did it from 7th in 2016, but with just even umpiring they lose the GF, the PF, and maybe the semi as well to Hawthorn.

We clearly are not going to get a free ride like that.

With the last 6 we have, I think there's a genuine chance we could push into the Top 4 now.

The Bulldogs board are legit complaining about the raw deal they got from the umps.

All I could do is stare and blink.

The McInerney free kick was one of the worst ones I have ever seen. Gave me flashbacks of 2004 when we were all over Essendon in the last quarter until Bolton took a mark in defence and got pinged for over the shoulder on solomon ... and then a 50m penalty for arguing.

The ump's call was "front on contact". He had already spilt the mark with no contact at all. Juzzy did well to keep his mouth shut and avoid the 50, even though he kicked the goal.
