The "Richmond haven't beaten anyone " myth thread

Tony Shaw has always bagged Richmond on Fox Footy. Last year he and Dermot were giving their top 5 from the 2004 draft. Dermot had Deledio at 3 but Shaw was unable to fit him in. His reasoning was that even though Deledio had won multiple Best and Fairest's, they didn't count because they were won at a poor club.

Richmond haven't beaten anyone of note this year but are going better than most would have suggested at the start of the year.

Going by his reasoning their should be an asterix beside every Brownlow medalist whose team didn't play finals.

So are you suggesting that players in poor teams should deliberately try to not win the best and fairest so they aren't criticised for winning a best and fairest in a poor team? Did you run into the same tree as Tony Shaw?

No I'm saying that until recently Deledio hasnt been playing to his potential.

As a neutral you should shut the f##k up, your club is a complete embarrassment.you are proven cheats and have always operated in suspect manner. Judd and his dodgy payments have just come back and bit you on the arse and the messiah who was going to deliver you a premiership is a pipe dream now. Malthouse is not the answer, far from it , who would employ a pensioner to deliver a flag in this modern game? You lot have got NFI and you will be stuck with that grumpy old c##t and those overpaid hacks that will never deliver you any success.

Having some issues working the "reply" button there?

This is excruciating.

Richmond are an average team that has capitalised on a dream draw.

Every time they've played a good team this year, they've been pantsed.

And listening to the media trying to talk them up is vomit inducing.

The team is structurally flawed. Deledio is pathetic in big games, too easily tagged. Martin hasnt had an influence after half time. And Riewoldt offers nothing when not kicking goals.

These are all patterns.

So many Richmond haters here. I must admit I love a new season when after the 1st game the tigers get beaten by the blues and the tigers call SEN complaining but they are going to make the finals so lets be happy for them. The fans have stuck with the tigers through all the bad seasons so who gives a f^&k who they have beaten this year they are gonna make the finals and good luck to em. God knows the supporters deserve this. Hope they win a final.

Nice to see a Mod feed the trolls.
By the way, who have Carlton beaten so far?

Are we not allowed to have an opinion?? Yeah every thread that concerns ones own team is a troll....... I have heard it all before.

Thread is not about us and Yes we also have not beaten much this year but lets stay on topic shall we. ;)

Richmond need a leg up because they are a "big 4" club and they've been an embarrasment for a generation or so and Sydney must keep winning or his "Northern Offensive" into NSW and Qld risks falling apart.
What could Vlad do? No doubt he wanted to schedule the umpires that helped Richmond last week but was in a quandry because they were playing Sydney. I think he let the game run it's course and the Tigers were found out to be yes, pretenders. No rediculous free kicks in front of goal = no Richmond. Let nature take it's course Vlad and let them slip back to 9th.:rainbow:

Hahah :thumbsu:

You're right though, the umpires did win us the game last week. Lots of games too though, not just last week.

I'd honestly be all in favour of giving those 4 points back to you :rainbow:

Today we learned that Richmond aren't as good as the reigning premiers on their home ground.

Lesson learnt?

Only if you're delusional enough to think we should be pushing for top 2/3 this season.

Firstly Ive reported your post for being off topic.

But seeing as you drew a comparison between North and Richmond; last year we finished 14-8 which is similar to what Richmond will finish. Unlike Richmond we beat Collingwood, Geelong and Adelaide. Richmond has beaten nobody.

I think any comparison between Richmond and North was answered comprehensively when we beat you by 10 goals.

Now that Ive resolved this comparison that you opened up, please keep any mention of North to the appropriate threads.

This thread is about Richmond not being able to beat anyone good.

If anything this season, all the comparisons between Richmond & Norf have shown is that we have switched rolls. The ladder goes without saying but where other supporters have laughed at us for being mentally soft in the past, well... it seems you guys have taken that mantle ... & for that I thank you & Brad Scott :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Don't worry mate, you can still make the top 4 from fifth:thumbsu:

Why is everyone using the word "pretender" for Richmond? Have they tried to convince anyone that they are a premiership contender? Has anyone been talking them up as a premiership contender?

They haven't pretended to be anything other than a side that finishes 5th-6th this year, which is exactly what they are. They are just a solid side who's beaten all the minnows, beaten most of their rivals for the 8 and lost to the better teams at the pointy end of the ladder. There's no pretending going on.

Didn't Malthouse say they can win the Premiership this year?

Why are we the ones copping the shit when all we were achieving for this year was more games into the kids and a finals berth?
