Correct me if I am wrong, but I have never heard any suggestions before that any of these 12 would be culled. My understanding is the club guaranteed they would get a minimum year if the individual player wanted it. So writer has just made sh!t up to fill a column

And your right, the first 2 paragraphs are just terrible writing, that provide the readers with nothing.

Telling a guy that they have a minimum extra year but it's at reduced money and that they'll most likely be depth could be construed as being a cull in all but name. Faced with that I can imagine players getting the message and looking elsewhere.

The thing I'm noticing is that people who are close to Hurley as in the footy community seem more confident that he will be at Essendon than people who are just commentating, it will be interesting to see what happens.

Guys I've been at the airport all night waiting for Hurley's flight to come in, then waited for him to disembark. Followed him around for a while asking if he's staying. Pretty sure he replied back...eventually...."******* staying ****". Now thinking back may have said "stay away"....hard to tell as I was being dragged away by security at the time and B4L was screaming at the top of his lungs.

I think your thinking of SportsNewsFirst which had Kim Hagdorn as it's chief writer and had an accuracy record worse than the BF Rumour and Scandal board.

It no longer exists but it was sued by Daniel Chick claiming a story about him was completely false, can't remember how that turned out.

I hope we have, put us members and supporters out of pain, either way, I honestly just want to know. One thing I know is we will get something really good in return. I am so happy we have retained 7, if we lose Hurley we have to look at the positive side of things, we kept Hooker, Heppell, Myers and Coyler who knocked backed numerous offers. If we land one of Hurls or Jobe, I am happy.

My gut feel is Jobe plays on because he is a proud determined person who would love nothing more than to go around again and stick it right up everyone.
Lets hope we know sooner rather than later.

They are the reminded every year, multiple times until they retire not to get onto this website.
I believe most players heed this advice.
