I'd just like to say how nice it is not to have a Match thread posted on a Monday.

This is how it should be.


What are the positions of the applicants regarding when Match threads should go up?

Should be Sunday night, straight after the game.

However, given that leaves no time for the OP to write up the just announced results into them, Mondays it is.

The bigger issue in committee is inexperienced club reps and LGs voting against the rules because they don't like the rule.

Haven't seen one submission from any penalised clubs to alter the rules they have received penalties for in two seasons of being back in committee.

Every season I have ever been in committee the admins have raised the rules before the season starts for any clubs to raise their concerns or flag changes and it barely registers a whimper until something happens in season. That's on the clubs.

It isn't the rules that are the problem, it is the interpretation and application of them based almost exclusively on whom is being accused of being in breach that is the problem.

The Admin race and the recent debate about use of the term ‘ass’ reminded me of many fun seasons of Elton Johns Wig torturing NaturalDisaster .

Wiggy bequeathed ND the sobriquet NaturalDumbass and rghtly or wrongly it stuck.

At the moment I have Wiggy ahead of Jabba73 then a gap to @dockerden and then Pickitt

I have two questions for each of the candidates

1. Would you support a viable 14th team as an expansion Club, if this could be done without screwing up any of the other 12 teams or even the Drags?

Yes.

2. What measures would you consider to restore a healthy media landscape?

As already stated, I believe that threads in the media need a chance to grow and thrive without being killed off by the first complaint of some tenuous link to a previous thread from 20 seasons ago. The people will keep the good threads going and the other ones will die off of their own accord. Continuously rubbishing attempts at media discourages further attempts and should be called out for the self-serving crap that it is.

Think about it this way. If someone wants to participate in this league but is only available to post on Mondays for whatever reason, why should we stop them from enjoying the league?

Monday is a reset(obviously), but it's also one on bigfooty, many here take time to pick their song contest nomination, look at their real world teams autopsy thread and so on, but as DenieD touched on the key is making the league readily available for everyone, so in my opinion 6-10pm on a Monday

Re Media I’m not sure rookies are as encouraged to draft media as once was the case. But it appears there are initiatives afoot, which is great.

Part of the fun of the fair with creating media is copping a bit of rubbishing and delivering some back. By and large everyone supports the efforts people put into media and media writers should be well aware of that. Not all of it will or should meet all tastes and some can be robust and that can be great fun as well.

If anything our personas probably get on too well. It has been ages since I saw a good old fashioned stoush, complete with melts, faux or otherwise. Not that I, as a gentle fella, ever participated in such goings on. However I did read some of them and was told stories.

One last point

If the match threads were up i would have somewhere to post my inanities and wouldn't be clogging this thread -

My vote will be going towards whoever fixes this oversight, if I had a vote that is.

And hurry up and stop dithering, it was decided weeks ago, just announce it so we can all move on will ya.

This is why media started to die off. Build it up rather than knock it down and encourage more people to give it a go.

Look, I would love to have the assistance of @manangatang if I were successful. But I'm also mindful of the time he has put in, and he may not want to continue. I would welcome it.

As an aside, I have sought the counsel of more than a few people I respect and admire, and if not mang, I think I would have some help.

With my work schedule sometimes seeing 3-4 day gaps, I am aware that I will need some.

Wigs has spoken to a few people and I will let him answer as to who and why, but I am responding because I am someone who has offered to help him as in running or setting up events if he gets the job.


edit: I am not going to be 2IC, just someone to lean on with some of the work load

He phoned it in for the first season and a half of his second stint mate, I think we can survive if the Admin goes missing for a day or two....

agree, I don't think an Admin has to be on everyday to do the role, I decided to ask KP so instead of people speculating about what they think is right, we would get it from the horses mouth so to speak - reality instead of opinion

A 3-4 day absence isn't really a huge deal. 9/10 an admin could have a 1-2 long absence and not miss much.
