Source? Are you referring to a couple of specific posts? Very small sample size if so. Think it's pretty clear that Wig is very well supported across the league, and rightfully so.

This thread has been predominantly members of two clubs talking about their candidates for admin.

Admin should be a role above the politics of individual clubs.

I think any admin candidate should speak for themselves, rather than have their team mates speak on their behalf.

If Jabba73 or Elton Johns Wig or any of the other admin candidates need their team mates to talk for them now, how can they admin independently without their help in a few months time.

Can someone kick him out of this thread? Clearly he is here for one reason only.

If people are serious about the issue that me being less available for 3-4 day blocks being a problem, vote for someone else.

The rubbish about me “going missing” is old hat. What season did I win the beez? S32/33?

I haven’t been missing since before that. I’ve been a constant since my time at the Furies through to being active every season at the OOBs.

And as to who my helper/2IC will be, I’m not sure it’s that relevant tbh. It’s not like I’m going to pick someone who is an idiot or inexperienced.

They would be available in the rare blocks that I’m not. They’re not proposing policy, or changing rules, or launching expansion bids, or folding clubs. They’re there to make sure the place still runs.

I’ll hope to confirm shortly, but you’re not voting for a 2IC, you’re voting for me.
I was and remain serious because again, I don't want an Ant Bear situation and conversely, have seen the benefit of mang's work during KPs latest tenure. However, if it truly is going to be 'rare' (which is not the impression that I got from your opener when you said you need support/help/mentioned the work-related breaks) , then indeed as you alluded to above, it's a little less relevant

FWIW I did ask KP the same question (ie did he have anybody specific in mind) in the leadup to the previous admin vote, and his response (even if he didn't name a person, he named some traits) did influence my vote at the time.

Point me to where either candidate has relied on their teammates to speak for them in this thread. Say what you want, but both Elton Johns Wig and Jabba73 articulate their points well and clearly. I can't think of a single occasion where either one of them has relied on others to speak for them.

Jabba73 (a candidate in this race) aside, no Old Boys or Bombers are even in the top five contributors of this thread.

Anyway, moving on from the 2IC point for a moment:

Elton Johns Wig and Jabba73 , one thing you both have in common is that this isn't the first time either of you have applied to be an admin. IIRC, Elton Johns Wig you pulled out the year it was mang vs. ND , and Jabba73 you cited Bomber bias when you weren't amongst the shortlisted candidates for the last admin race.

What has changed for each of you since the last time you applied? For better or worse.

Interesting that both the sixth & seventh highest contributors are though.

I felt mang was a better candidate.

If he was running now, I’d pull out because I think he would be a superior candidate to myself.

Intriguing response, doubling up as a subtle dig at ND and the other candidates for this season too.

I was less curious about your reasons, and more interested in what has changed for each of you this time. If it's really just a matter of your opposition, I'll move on.

One of your key principles last time was that you would be neutral in the event of a tie and would let the committee argue/fight it out/come to a decision rather than break the tie, so to speak. I noticed this wasn't specifically referenced in your pitch this time. So I ask, how do you see your role in the future committee as an admin when there's a tie?

Interesting, I guess you envisage teams abstaining or failing to vote on matters? I guess there is a precedence on that, so good question.

It’s not intended as a dig, there are just some that I think are better than me. ND was great, and I think Jabba would be fine. And I ask ND for advice regularly. But mang was CLEAR (in my eyes anyway)

Same stance as last time, preferably the committee come to a decision, and I would guide them to do so, but if required, I’ll make the decision I think is in the best interests of the SFA. I don’t think it’s a controversial stance.

If elected, it’s not my game, it’s ours. Where possible the decision would be made together, with a consensus.

Interested on hearing reasonable responses here only.

If Jabba73 played for the Royals would he have had more of a chance at being elected?

Have a good day:thumbsu:
And this can't be either

They'd already be putting the nameplate on the Admins door if he was Warrior

This can't be a serious question

It was, for the above reason that Bono immediately identified (and for good reason). And also because it was such a big part of EJW's pitch last time whilst being missing from this pitch. In any case, we may be up to 14 or down to 12 during the next admin period anyway.

It's not controversial, it's a reasonable response. I did wonder if you would do something to enforce a decision by making the absent/abstaining team participate . Sounds like it's more along the lines of hoping the committee pressure leads to that result, regardless of admin enforcing it.

It's a pity that recent history has caused this to be a consideration.

It's not rocket science. Tie with even teams - admin votes. Tie with odd teams - admin tells the abstaining club to shit or get off the pot. Sure, EJW (or anyone else for that matter) may need to get a spoon and dig occasionally but he's been around a long time and has more life experience than you or I.

Just a strange question IMO.
