Hi everyone, we're kicking off the 2023 Blue Tick thread once more in time for the upcoming Trade Period.

If you see any rumours posted by verified media (the kind with blue ticks on their accounts) post them in here.

Win Prizes! Shiny badge on offer for the person who posts the most rumours in the thread. Duplicates don't count!

Blue tick rumours are:
  • Recognised: from news articles and official social media accounts of journalists/news outlets
    • Rumours via the neighbour's uncle who knows the coach of a VFL team is unverifiable, so no blue tick. Same goes for whatever the latest iteration of a 'whispers' social media troll account is
  • Verifiable: include a link to the source, and a screenshot of the bit where it says the rumour
    • Reporters and talking heads thinking it's a good idea for a player to go <here> for 'reasons' is speculation, not a rumour
    • Podcasts/twitter/newspapers etc are the sources we are expecting links to. If you're linking to a podcast then please provide time eg: 5:20min so I don't have to listen to the entire thing.

Some other talk out of the Herald Sun:

  • Fremantle will ask for a pick between 15-25 in return for trading former No. 9 draft pick Liam Henry to the Hawks.
  • Lochie O’Brien remains contracted at Carlton for next season, but will likely look for greater opportunities elsewhere in 2024
  • Dev Robertson from the Lions has some Eagles interest but they have not offered him a four-year deal despite recent reports.
  • Tigers not keen on Chol from Suns

  • Bombers will open up the purse strings in pursuit of McKay
  • Liam Henry will nominate Hawks as preferred destination
  • Xavier Duursma will be staying at Port
  • Dogs are emerging as front runner for pick 4 from the Suns
  • GWS will go to the draft and there will be no dumping of players onto the market for salary cap reasons - list is stable

I’ve realised sam Edmund doesn’t do his own research.
Aha yeah, it starts to become obvious doesn't it. Very little if any 'breaking' reports, he's always a few hours behind Twomey, Cleary & Ralph.

Carlton is among the clubs with interest in prising former No.7 draft pick Elijah Hollands from Gold Coast.

Fringe talls Mabior Chol and Chris Burgess – both of whom are contracted for 2024 – have also been linked to moves from the Gold Coast, with Burgess understood to have attracted interest from Adelaide.

While the Blues, riding the wave of their finals run, do not have the salary cap space to be major players in the trade period, they are likely to cede Paddy Dow to a rival club, with St Kilda long linked to Dow given his connection with former Carlton list boss Stephen Silvagni, who is now working at the Saints.

Zac Fisher has had interest from North Melbourne.

Silvagni is also a fan of 2019 first-round draft pick Sam Philp, who has been riddled by injuries at the Blues and shapes as a potential delisted free agent or rookie option for the Saints who are keen to bring in greater outside run.

McClure linked Harmes to all of Essendon, Carlton, Richmond and Sydney on the latest Tradies podcast
That's a rather wide net. But can understand why the Swans would be interested. An inside mid would sure help while our younger crew get up to speed.

He did say swans or tigers most likely but all 4 clubs have been in contact.
Well, we've got enough picks to work with. All depends if he wants to move out of Vic and what the Bombers offer in regards to $$
